For me I like I-80. I love the high distance highway it is from the beginning of Pennsylvania til at least Ohio begins.

I-95. The piece of I-80 through Pennsylvania is nice, but Illinois through Wyoming is boring. I-95 is best on the northern and southern ends, but it's pretty interesting overall -- well, at least by Interstate highway standards.

Every American should consider traveling the lengths of I-80, I-95, I-10, and I-5. Not necessarily within the next few weeks, but they give a good view of the great variety of the country. The old Route 66, from Chicago to Santa Monica is known worldwide as the nostalgic "mother road" of America. I saw Route 66 memorabilia in a shop in Zermat, Switzerland. US Hwy 1, following the California coast, is probably the most scenic long road -- it should be on your list above the interstates.

Since I live near I-95, I'll choose it over I-80. The one problem with I-95 is all the traffic. Espescially near Exit 45 near Richmond.

The three main highways in utah, are the I-80, the I-215, and the I-15.

Didn't I-70 go though Utah as well?

Yeah it does, but not through SLC. It stretches east and west through cities like Emery, richfield, Selina, etc. I have taken it before going to Moab, but not much outside of that.

Hwy 1 is on my to-do list. I really need to visit California again soon.
