It seems like that some people don't understand how debates work.

Certain people say things like "Pro loses. I've never heard of what pro says happening before.", or "pro loses my vote by stating bla bla bla, which is incorrect."

While these objections are valid RFD's, they fundamentally misunderstand how debates work. It's how you defend a statement and meet your burden of proof that matters, even if your position is laughably retarded. If I make a debate that says that "The sky is rainbow coloured because atheists eat babies", and I give 100 logically sound points that my opponent fails to refute, no matter what the voters say about the sky not being rainbow coloured due to baby eating, I still win the debate.

In conclusion: No matter how retarded a statement is, it is not enough to lose a debate if the statement is relevant, it is logically sound, and the opponent has not sufficiently refuted it.

Not entirely. There are different ways to approach debates. One can assume the bop, it can be a shared bop, or even taking con all you have to do is show that there is a reason not to believe the Bop and provide reasonable doubt.

Actually we (certianly not everyone, but a measurable number of us) do, notice how Imabench has won numerous debates.

I need to do this as a debate topic.

I'm also the Troll Goddess of Reason. Sacrifices are appreciated but not necessary.

Go vote on one of my debates. I'm not that smart, so it'll probably be an easy decision.

What you're looking for is a judge with a tabula rasa paradigm. I try to follow it as much as possible, but not everyone does.

There is a significant number of unqualified voters on the site. They will vote the way they wish regardless of who has the BOP. In many cases, they will manipulate their RFD so a certain person wins or loses. Typically, the people have little interest in reading the debate or discussion. They just intend to vote whomever supports their bias.
