If you could take back any debates, what would they be and why?

I got crushed by Cirrk in this video debate few years ago: http://www.debate.org...

I focused way too much on non-existent conduct violations, semantics, etc. Horrible performance lol but it was extremely fun either way.

I also learned from this debate not to take debates that I only thought I understood lol. I truly realized after this debate how much I didn't know about halo haha

I'm still bitter about this one:

http://www.debate.org...

I still think that my opponent behaved dishonestly--we had discussed that he was to present his own case and NOT merely attack mine, but when the debate actually happened he did not do so. And I got a little bitter at a couple of the voters because they voted in a way I questioned, but didn't deign to respond when I asked about it--I probably shouldn't've, but I was annoyed.

Stings to see it in my profile.

I accidentally accepted this debate thinking I'd be pro, and failed at playing Devil's Advocate.

I am sad about my first debate. Only serious debate I lost, and I had no experience.I am sure I would dominate in a round 2.

All but 7 of them
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

If you think I will give up my rights and forsake social etiquette to make you "FEEL" better you are sadly mistaken

If liberal democrats would just stop shooting people gun violence would drop by 90%

The one where I got pissed off and believe I shouldn't have lost:

1) Education subsidies (with Laissez Faire - it deviated too far from the intended debate and quality of content wasn't great from either side. Still hate that I lost it 9-10. The votes were close. http://www.debate.org...

The ones where I legitimately felt I got outclassed: there were about three debates in which I felt my opponent clearly had the better arguments and I failed to counter well.

1) Mafia debate with Danielle: http://www.debate.org...
This was easily the most lopsided debate. I knew even as I posted my counter that I was already fighting a losing battle because Danielle was using my own points to strengthen her position.

2) Debate on Roller Coasters with bluesteel: http://www.debate.org...
This was a ton of fun. If you find yourself nodding in agreement to your opponent's points as you read, then you know you are losing because the voters will think that way too. This was one debate where I felt rhetoric played a massive role and I couldn't compete with bluesteel's reasonable and solid rhetoric and found myself even laughing at his interpretation of my arguments as he tried to show how wrong they were.

3) Debate about new membes instigating deabates with Double_R: http://www.debate.org...
This was mostly a debate where I looked back to see how I had done and what I should have done in order to win. I missed some important debating strategies and counters and YYW was happy to illuminate me about them.

4) Nuclear Weapons debate with BlackVoid: http://www.debate.org...
Playing devil's advocate, I just put in a low amount of effort, did badly, and got crushed as expected. That was the point I decided that I need to make sure my schedule is clear before I take challenging debates.

The one where I gave my best shot, and have no regrets even as I lost:

1) Wind Power debate with RoyLatham: http://www.debate.org...
I am happy with this debate and really glad with the finished product that I put out and I thought it was extremely well done on both sides. I lost 0-6 but I am still proud of the arguments I presented and know exactly which ones I should have tweaked in order to have taken the win. I learned a lot from research as well.

----

I am not sure whether the title of the thread wanted the posters own worst effort in a debate or the ones where they felt completely outmatched. Worst effort for me is the Nuclear Weapons one. Being outmatched, the roller coaster debate takes the cake.

I'm not going to go into the debates I had in my previous account (the number of bad performances I made was pretty large there), so I'll just stick with my two worst on my current account:

http://www.debate.org...: It's very hard to argue one way or another because there are multiple ways to "prove" either argument.

http://www.debate.org...: While I made a very good performance in this debate, putting "probable" made this more of a philosophical debate instead of a scientific one (where I should have put "probable"). I easily beat my opponent's science arguments, but that one word in the resolution made the voting 62-57.
I'm becoming less defined as days go by, fading away, and well you might say, I'm losing focus, kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.
