On March 7, 2014, member Mikal overtook long-time Debate Leaderboard top-dawg RoyLatham (I believe it's 3 years; correct me if I'm wrong), after winning the debate "The Big Bang theory was made up by scientists to have something interesting to say" http://www.debate.org....

Mikal: 7841 http://www.debate.org...
RoyLatham: 7739 http://www.debate.org...

Roy, who has not lost a debate in 10 months, is a veteran DDO'er with 5 years on the record, while Mikal, who has an astounding 153 to 1 win ratio, has only been on DDO for 7 months. While Mikal is the only person ever to break the 7000 elo threshold (to my knowledge), he has been accused of "noob sniping" by at least one member http://www.debate.org.... Roy remains one of the highest regarded debators by many http://www.debate.org....

The site has only used ELO for a little over a year. Prior to that, Danielle led the leaderboards under the older ranking system. ELO was adopted because it is more accurate than pure wins and losses.

And the ELO ranking system, really, has been the only site improvement I've liked that Juggle has come out with since I've been on the site. But a chat feature, I think, will be just about the best thing ever.
