I have set out on forming a set of rules and parameters that I want to sue as a template for any future debates I start. I would like some feed back as I am trying to form a template that will hopefully come into wider use for meaningful discussions.

______________________________________________________________________

Topic
______________________________________________________________________

Outline of the debate goes here, Ideally about one Paragraph in length but can be as much as two paragraphs if the topic warrants specified areas of discussion. which should look something like this. The next few sentences are just going to praddle on.

Who ever thought of the word praddle? what an odd word. It doesn't even really describe the sound of talking in any language I know of. One of these these days I am going to have to care enough to Google it.

______________________________________________________________________

Conditions
_______________________________________________________________________

Here approximately one tow two paragraphs should outline the goal of the topic debate and establish parameters for success of the debate. Goals for both pro and Con with in 2-3 paragraphs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sources- must be properly named or preferably linked directly.
Profanity- Must be kept to a minimum.
Ad Hominem is not permitted.
Off topic discussion is not permitted.

-------------------------------------------------------
You tube links to lectures and presentations relevant to the discussion maybe used as supporting evidence but not as primary sources.
--------------------------------------------------------

For definitions, debaters may use either Merriam Webster's Dictionary (http://www.merriam-webster.com... ) or ( http://dictionary.reference.com... )

*** For legal debates Black's Dictionary is perffered***
Black's dictionary (2nd ed.) can be found here: http://thelawdictionary.org...

--------------------------------------------------------
Breitbart may not be used as a source.
Upworthy may not be used as a source.
Fox News may not be used as a primary source, but maybe used as a supporting source.
Mother Jones may not be used as a primary source, but maybe used as a supporting source.
--------------------------------------------------------
_______________________________________________________________________

Debate structure.
_______________________________________________________________________

1st Round: Acceptance, Introduction and the Basic premise of the debate. Make a 1-2 Paragraph introduction for the line of thinking you intend to debate on.
2nd Round: Main Argument.
3nd Round: Rebuttal and Question to opponent.
4th Round: Answers, follow ups and counter rebuttals.
5th round: Closing arguments.

____________________________

Any additional conditions.

Seems like it will do what you want it to do.
