What are the 'groups'?

I think it means general profile information such as gender, what you're intersted in, age, income, etc

It's a stub for future development. I guess they had in mind to have debate-groups such as "Team Frozen" or "YYW Censorship committee."

False. I got it set it "Only Me" and I can see everything about me in Private mode.
