So what is debate.org's stance on the recent "vote-bombing" mini-scandal? Were any accounts removed? What's the "word"?
Don't I take care of them all?

Vote bombing is like war.
Nobody likes it, everybody's ready for it, and it's always the other guy's fault.

I GOT SECOND POST WOOOOOOOOO
: If you weren't new here, you'd know not to feed me such attention. This is like an orgasm in my brain right now. *hehe, my name is in a title, hehe* (http://www.debate.org...)

Just in case I get into some BS with FREEDO again about how he's NOT a narcissist.

So... what's there to destroy evil inside of and above the constitutional government?

I talked to Phil about it and he told me that although he was against "vote bombing", he wasn't about to tell people who registered their accounts via cell phone how to vote, so technically, vote bombing is within the rules.

I heard that several accounts were removed and their votes negated, but this is mere hearsay.

Lord knows I've been "vote bombed" a bunch of times. It's annoying, but I think Phil is right -- it's perfectly within the rules. I hope beem0r's reported rumors are false, as it would be completely ridiculous and unfair if accounts were deleted because people didn't like the way someone voted.

Yeah, some people were saying that accounts had been deleted. I think it was scissorhands7 I heard this from.

It would make sense that some were deleted, as far as the evidence goes. A lot of points that certain people had simply disappeared. I don't think they should be deleted because of the vote-bomb thing per se, but if they were multiples they should have been deleted. That's the idea behind confirming your ID in the first place, right?

I was only assuming that accounts had been deleted because on most of my debates the points just were gone, if I had a higher score than before I'd have thought that bombers changed their votes, however this was not the case and my "tied" columns did not advance any leading me to think that accounts were deleted.

Any more info on this would be great.

I'd be all for deleting dupelicate accounts if they have a way to detect that. Just add that dupe accounts are not allowed into the TOS then you can delete them and their main account.

Everybody has been making a huge deal of this whole thing, but I think people need to just stop caring about votes. It's alot less stressful if you just stop caring so much about the voting process, which is really one of the least important things. The site's for debating. The whole voting thing is fun and all, but not really very important, the way I see it.

lulz

but seriously who doesnt love to look at their debate and see the "winning" under their name

If people should not care about voting then why not eliminate it?

Yeah, it's as I said in another thread. People like to win. If I play checkers and win, I'm certainly going to feel better than playing just to lose. To go a bit deeper, I believe people like seeing their time and efforts (and on this site, people more often than not make PLENTY of effort) lead to success.

You @sshole. No need to dig it up; you just did it or attention. You have nothing to contribute, even further.

Too bad you haven't been IP banned.

Even if you leave a reason for voting you are still a vote bomber "Yawn" Then you have to have a sub debate about the debate to justify your vote and even still you are a vote bomber. No vote
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

So what if a really rude debater creates a rubbish argument full of spelling errors and citing no sources comes and debates DDO's most refined debater, would it be wrong to award points to the other side merely because it equates to the full 7?

I wonder who is DDO's most refined debater. Airmax? Nah, he's prez of DDO, but that doesn't mean he's the best debater on DDO. Mikal? He's been proven not best from his own words. Imabench? Hes better at trolling. Bsh1? He won expert tiers, yes, but his love for YYW may get in his way if he ever decides to debate YYW. Danielle? Nobody ever mentions her, even though she was the highest elo debater on DDO...and the only other 100% on DDO.

Not sure how you found this year old post, but this was made not long after I joined DDO. Since then you may notice that my tone and thinking habits have changed sufficiently such that the person you are attacking 1 year in the past is vastly different to how he chooses to behave today. Keep in mind that the debater was not the subject of the post, or any of the required material for that matter. My case was that it is not wrong to award 7 either way provided the person deserved it. Are you here to contest that?
