DDO doesn't currently supported accented letters in the debate title. It replaces them with an apostrophe. This is atrocious.

DDO should do this because I intend on making lots of debates in Spanish from now on and this has the potential to attract a massive number of more views from all over the world, which means more ad clicks and more $$$$$ and we know Juggle <3 $$$$.

Haha, this was my same reaction.

Yeah, they should allow pasting accent egus. And em dashes. And apostraphes. Those both also paste as quotation marks.

It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

I will say, though, that I totally commend you for wanting to debate in Spanish. Mine is terrible. I can order alcoholic beverages, food and understand how much money I need to pay people... and that's the beginning and end of how much spanish I know lol

I agree. DDO should support Unicode, or at least the symbols most common in the Latin alphabet. There are is a number of occasions where it might be necessary to use some non English terms. Besides, the English language DO use several diacritical marks itself, in words like naive (diaeresis on the i), cafe (acute accent on the e) or facade (c-cedilla), so there is no reason not to allow these symbols to be used in the site.

Not to mention proper names. How can someone be expected to properly debate Schrodinger's cat if they can't even put the umlaut on "Schrodinger"?

Lol. I'm sure you're being sarcastic, but trying to debate in Spanish without accents can be very confusing. Depending on the use of accents, or lack thereof, the word "limite" can mean either "I limited", "he limits", or the noun "limit".
