So what do you guys think about the new debate settings and stuff?

Go vote on one of my debates. I'm not that smart, so it'll probably be an easy decision.

I like it. I believe it will help preserve the integrity of both the debates and quality of voting judges.

One of the biggest issues I've faced is actually having debates remain unvoted on until like one day before voting ends. It's stress inducing to say the least. Hopefully with this new system it will help lock in judges that will place votes with appropriate RFD's.

I'm not sold on the option to just 'choose winner' because that leaves the voting parameters up to the judges. I recently saw Bsh1 start a debate with that voting option and after seeing YYW say that he is voting on it I immediately threw out the possibility of me accepting the debate. That is the only example I have at the moment, I'm kind of waiting to see the RFD's on those kind of debates with that voting choice before partaking in one like that myself.

I haven't used any of the new features yet, but it's nice to have options.

What does this even mean? The parameters of the debate still haven't changed; it's still who has the better arguments. The only reason this wouldn't change is if the voter is bad/biased, in which case the previous voting system only makes that problem worse.

That's what I'm worried about though, the bias. At-least with the old voting system you had to leave a reasonable RFD for the different parts (conduct, arguments, etc.) no matter the bias or else you risked having that vote removed. With the new option to simply 'choose winner', I think it will be much easier to BS without being restricted to certain pre-determined parts of the debate like I listed above. I mean, time will tell all in this case, so in fairness this is nothing but conjecture at this point.
