Someone please help me. I'm getting vote bombed.

The debate was not even close by any stretch of the imagination. The only thing my opponent did was quote Bible verses.

It happens, but thankfully, with the ability to see votes now, it is easier to counter (though we still can't stop it).

One doesn't want to be too much of a linguistic chauvinist, but really quickly...

Vote bombing = Malicious, sometimes organized, voting against someone

Vote abuse = Just bad voting, perhaps based on ideology or on not voting correctly

Ideologically-based vote bombing is still vote bombing.

But sometimes people do it maliciously based on ideology. A christian may find an atheist and vote all 7 against him on all of his debates simply because he wants atheists too lose, as if that some how proves a God, and vise versa.

Granted some people just don't want to read through the walls of texts and so vote based on ideology. But that can usually be told by how many people do it and how close together. If you see 4 people all do that with in 1 hour after the debate ends, it kinda implies something.

Right. If it's something like that, then it's vote bombing, because you have malicious intent against a single person.

If 4 people vote against someone in 1 hour based off ideology, then that may hint to vote bombing.

But random, singular votes against someone that are based apparently off ideology are not vote bombing. That, again, is just vote abuse.

What about atheistman? I'd definitely classify him as an anti-theist vote bomber.

True 'dat. I guess I should have been more specific in my definition, adding all the exceptions.

That said, what the OP experienced wasn't so much vote bombing as it was vote abuse.

It was a lot of vote abuse then, and pretty quick too. Vote abuse is part of the game though. Very few people have 100% absolute integrety. And if we limited it to only those people, this site would be a ghost town.

Atheistman vote bombs me in every debate I do. Even if I clearly win and it is not about God.

That's because he doesn't like KFC.

I think the same happened to me. I was way in the lead and then all of a sudden two guys gave my opponent 12 points and now we're tied.

Yeah, I think I've confronted him about that. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to care what other people think. He will give 7 points to anyone that attacks religion no matter how poorly they do. Actually, I'm pretty sure he gives 7 points to anyone he agrees with.

On a side note, there are like 3 or 4 Baptists that have some kind of a grudge against me. Go figure... Something I wrote must have upset them.
