Chapter V: http://www.debate.org...

Bsh1 laid his head on my shoulder and I put my arm around his waist. We watched the skyline from the hotel room, the few people walking on the sidewalks on the ground below and the cars bustling through the streets even at this hour of the night.

"This city really does never sleep." Bsh1 observed.

"You're right." I replied, turning to kiss the top of his head. "But we should try and get some sleep before the morning. We've got to meet with the Bladerunner's in the morning, I've got a lunch appointment with thett and you've got a conference with some donors in the afternoon. We've also got dinner with..."

"I don't want to think about that right now." Bsh1 cut me off, as he put his finger on my lips.

"We can let tomorrow's events be tomorrow's, then." I smiled.

He took my hand and led me back inside. When he got to the bed, he stopped, turned around and began to take off my already loose tie. Gently, but deliberately, he threw it on the chair by the window and then began to unbutton my shirt. I did the same, with his, and I unbuttoned his pants, and let them fall to the ground. Staring at my chest, bsh1 gently began to undo my belt, pants and let them drop to the floor as well.

Neither of us said anything; we didn't have to. I knew exactly what he was thinking and he knew exactly what I was thinking, and our communication was hardly in need of words. We pulled down the covers, and got in. He rolled over to face me began to kiss me, and I, him. Savoring the moment, I pulled him closer to me, and we finished the night exactly as we both hoped we would.

--

The next morning, I woke up before bsh1 and called room service and ordered a fruit salad, bagels mineral water hot tea for him and coffee for me. There were few things that I loved more than waking up next to him, but without disturbing him I got out of bed and walked over to the door to open it and retrieve the paper. Room service arrived about ten minutes later, at which point I was sitting on the balcony reading the paper. The attendant brought the cart out to the balcony and placed our breakfast on the table. Bsh1, still in his underwear, woke up, stretched and walked out to the balcony to join me. Unfazed, the attendant finished setting the table outside, and left after I tipped him.

"Morning, sunshine." I smiled as I lowered the paper.

"Morning." He was still waking up. "Did you sleep well last night?"

"Perfectly." I affectionately replied. "And you?"

"Perfectly." He smiled, as he sat down across the table from me.

We ate breakfast, shared the newspaper and showered together before getting dressed. Bsh1 chose a tailored, dark blue solid Prada suit with a white herringbone weave shirt and thin rep stripe maroon and navy and tie. I picked out a dark grey Armani chalk stripe suit with a white broadcloth shirt and no tie. We were just meeting with the Bladerunners, after all.

We departed the hotel in the usual fashion, and arrived subsequently the Bladerunner's townhouse in Manhattan. The Bladerunner's butler greeted us at the door, and showed us to the library where former President Bladerunner was awaiting our arrival.

"It's so good to see you both!" He exuberantly stood up, walked over and embraced us both upon our entry.

"The feeling is surely mutual, Eddie." I said, grasping his hand while throwing an arm over his shoulder as men do when a handshake alone simply won't suffice. "It's been too long."

"It has been too long!" He replied, as he and bsh1 did the same.

"How's retirement treating you?" Bsh1 jokingly asked.

"I've never been happier, except when my kids were born, of course." He gestured us to a sitting area in front of an empty fireplace between large, mahogany bookshelves. "I'm finishing my memoirs between speaking engagements, and now I've got the time to do all the things I wanted to do when I was in office."

"I'm so glad to hear that." Bsh1 said as he sat down.

"So, rumor has it that you're considering endorsing bsh1 in the primaries." I said as I sat down.

"Of course, YYW. Always right to business." President Bladerunner took a seat on the sofa across a marble topped coffee table from the wing backed cream colored silk chairs that bsh1 and I were sitting in.

"Your endorsement would mean so much." Bsh1 began. "I think that it would add real momentum to the campaign, too."

"I absolutely agree, which is why I'm going to endorse you." President Bladerunner looked over to me. "So, when do you think we should do this and how?"

"Did you see Bsh1 on Late Night with Mikal the other night?" I asked.

"I did!" Blade laughed. "I thought they would talk more about you, but I'm glad they didn't. I think it went splendidly, too. The crowd really seemed to love what he had to say."

"Yes they did." I leaned back in my chair, very proud of that moment. "I think that as soon as he formally announces, we should give the country a little while to let it sink in but very soon after that if you publicly endorsed him that would jettison him into the kind of visibility that's going to lead to an electoral success."

"You're probably right." Blade nodded in agreement. "Bsh, ever since I first met you, I knew you were destined for this. And with YYW by your side, you guys are the party's most prominent power couple."

Bsh1 smiled, as did I.

"I'm just a strategist." I said, as I turned and looked at Bsh1. "He's the face of the party's future."

"Of course he is!" Blade went on. "And I knew it from the beginning. We're going to have to work hard to make to make this happen, but it's got to happen. Bsh1 is who will lead the party into the next generation, while you are the one who will keep our voting base and some of the more free spirits in the party in line."

I knew that I was the party's lead enforcer, and I alway had been ever since I moved inside the beltway, but I was always uncomfortable with that position. Even though I was very good at whipping votes, I never enjoyed it.

"You're right." Bsh1 spoke up. "Even if we have to drag them by their heels, kicking and screaming, we're going to move the party forward."

"We have too." I continue.

"You're both right." Blade spoke up. "Ever since the unpleasantness with those damned tea bagging populists, the party's been fractured. You're young, brilliant and you both are incredibly popular with our female constituency -and they might just turn this election. You know it's rare that the person who is the best for the job is also has some of the highest poll ratings before he even announces."

"It really is." Bsh1 and I both said at the same time. When we realized what had happened, we both couldn't help but look at each other and smile.

"You're both just fantastic." Blade rose from his chair, and gestured for us to walk to the kitchen. "Let's go have a cup of coffee before you both have to be off to the next meeting. Oh, and I want you both to meet my oldest daughter and my son, too! They're home from college for the summer and they both think you're just absolutely amazing, Bsh."

"It would be my pleasure!" Bsh1 nodded and we walked into the kitchen.

It was good. The only issue I have is with the gay sex scene.

How do you have a gay sex scene, without once mentioning the word member?

The straight romance novels can't have a straight sex scene without using the word "member", and you have double the opportunity and still forget to.

Also I don't read romance novels. I only know this from accidently opening one up occasionally.

You might be onto something there. I loved The West Wing, and it's one of my all time favorite shows. I also liked House of Cards, but I couldn't help but judge Francis Underwood. I could never root for him. I was always, by contrast, pulling for Jed Bartlett.

I tried to keep it PG rated, and this chapter was, mostly at least, for that scene. Truth be told I'm not really sure which direction I want to take it, but I do think that I need to spice the plot up. I was planning on doing that later on, but I think that the present is the time to make it happen.

How do you have a gay sex scene, without once mentioning the word member?

By just describing what's happening, and leaving a lot to the reader's imagination. The art to a good sex scene is to refrain from using references to genitals.

I am suprised by the lack of intellect already evident on this site. No one here is doing any actual debating, and several people, like you, prefer to pathetically flame others. In the process, embarass themselves.

How about you cool it flash? No one wants to see you try to gain the upper hand in a internet flame war. Serves no one any good, does it?

-_- Then, may I be the first: why complain about something you obviously don't want to be a part of?

No one here is doing any actual debating, and several people, like you, prefer to pathetically flame others. In the process, embarass themselves.
Sweetheart, you haven't seen anything yet. I actually don't get into a lot of flamewars.

How about you cool it flash?
No problem. I'm already cool. XD

No one wants to see you try to gain the upper hand in a internet flame war. Serves no one any good, does it?
WOW! You really are hilarious. POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK!
Good one!

I don't care about whether an ideology is "necessary" or not,
I care about how to solve problems,
which is what everyone else should also care about.

In essence, the world is fucked up and you can either ignore it, become cynical or bitter about it.

You might be onto something there. I loved The West Wing, and it's one of my all time favorite shows. I also liked House of Cards, but I couldn't help but judge Francis Underwood. I could never root for him. I was always, by contrast, pulling for Jed Bartlett.

That only makes sense. I could only make it through two episodes of the West Wing, whereas with House of Cards, I am addicted, and currently rewatching it. It's not that either show is bad. It really is a matter of taste. YYW prefers focusing on humans who happen to be politicians, I focus on politics laced with humor.

Care to find a meme that actually makes me laugh?

You think I care if you laugh? I like you, you're very funny.

I'm flattered you find me funny, but I can't say the feelings mutual. Critique, critique, critique.
*fixes your spelling errors*

No problem. I don't find me funny either. You on the other hand, are sooo hilarious.

And you seem like someone I know. Well, make that 3,000,000 people I know. I call them...

"Braindead trolls"

Haha. I'm flattered. Well, since I was one of your first DDO friends, I guess we know where you got it from buddy.

By the way, you remind me of someone I know as well... Who was he again? Oh yeah.. someone nobody took seriously and soon everyone forgot his name.

I continue to enjoy seeing a 16 year old girl impress those around her, by proving she stands better ground against her supposed enemeies. Feel free to spark my amusement. There's no one else piling into my notifications, is there?

You can settle this like a child or an adult. Up to you.
How about NO elections?

I like the human/realist/pulp side of things, yeah. Humor is also something I'm not good at writing. I've got a dry/salty sense of humor as it is, and that in addition to the fact that I'm almost totally ungifted in being creative about funny sh!t kind of keeps this me from trying.
