We admitted we were powerless over debating"that our lives had become unmanageable.

Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

"Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights..."

There is a very easy solution: do something to violate the TOS and then you wont be able to debate anymore.
But seriously, I have read yor recent debate on the Bibles Infallibility and you are very, very good. You have a chance of setting an unsurpassable record of highest ELO if you stay on this Site debating for another year or two. Then youll be able to deactivate yor account and have your name at the top of the leaderboards for years and years.

It's from the alcoholics anonymous 12 steps to recovery, and is often used as an approach towards all addiction.

then lose to the guy with the lowest elo on the site (by asking him to instigate a debate to you)!!! This guy has 1000 elo: http://www.debate.org...
Change= 100* (W+9L)/10W
c= 100* (1000+81000)/10000
C=820
Since you accept...you lose 845 massive elo....and STILL be at the top of the leaderboard
Good, then you can still do more debates and still fulfill your promise, while at the same time holding your godly-high position on the leaderboard :P

I would still debate lol, that solves nothing

When i lost to prog I only took a 30 elo hit and he was 2k, so that formula is actually really weird in some cases

I debated Rational Thinker when he had a higher ELO than me and I instigated the debate and when I was losing I dropped like 250 ELO so the system is obviously jacked up lol.

We ended up tying so I luckily didn't lose any ELO. The fact that I could have even lost that much though is absurd.
