So, Tim, are you an anarchist or a statist?

I wasn't aware these are the only two positions that one can take. Interesting.

Can you point out an ideology that is neither a government nor nongovernment?

It is one of the true dichotomies, yes.

I'll have to find it (or just make my one).

But it is a political compass (not THE political compass, but one of the maps) that has just the corner that says "Libertarians" and the rest of the map says "Damn Socialists!"

There are plenty of ideologies that are anti-statist, but not anarchist. Like classical liberalism and libertarianism. Ron Paul isn't a statist and he isn't an anarchist, for example.

FREEDO and Reasoning have no idea what they're talking about most of the time, which endangers the education of the rest of the forum. A statist isn't one who believes in the existence of the state. A statist is one who believes the state should play a major role in governance.

It's perhaps even sadder that Reasoning believes that one must be either a statist or anarchist, and he calls it a true dichotomy. Like I pointed out above, this is false. Which would mean that Reasoning's logic is a fallacy, most commonly called a false dilemma, or sometimes called a false dichotomy.

Ok, that's good enough for me. I was just using a different definition.
