Throughout DDO, many debates are plagued with Noob-sniping, and even the elo-calculation formula cannot stop some noob-snipers out there, as shown in Zarroette's most recent debates, and the infamous Teemo known for his noob-assassinations which led to his massive 4,000-something elo, only stopped by me.
However, do you think there can be noob-traps? A debate designed specifically for noobs to accept, only to be destroyed by huge serious immovable arguments?
And should it be added to the Wikia? What do you think?
My thinking: yes, there exists such things as noob-traps. I in fact have succeeded within a trap myself: http://www.debate.org..., It is arguable whether or not my debate against Teemo was a trap or not. Also, this is another trap: http://www.debate.org.... So, do you believe in noob-traps now? Do you think it should be added to the wikia?
If not, I'm going on ahead to add it to the noob-snipe page.

I remember when he tried to noob-snipe me in my first day in DDO.
There was a debate about teemo, the LoL character. He accepted the debate as Con. The point is that his position was against the character and I posted a comment about it and he challenged me to a debate with the resolution "It is normal for Teemo to fight Teemo in League of Legends".

I don't know but I don't think it's enough being a noob to accept that debate lol, you need "something" else. So maybe there is a noob=trap for those who have this "something".

The thing is that he wanted to win with a trick. With the resolution, he was obviously talking about the game and not what I was talking about lol.

The problem is that it's easy in religious topic to just use the mysterious ways of god to explain some stuff, but when you want to prove something, that's kind of difficult. LIke dinosaurs in the bible. Specially in other language.

Yes, I saw his scientific debates. I disagree with him a lot tho.
Btw, I think you mean falsifiable..

Oh yes, it doesn't matter. What matters is that he defeated the mighty Sswdwm. Speaking of that debate, I actually reworded one of sswdwm's arguments for the WODC. Don't tell anyone tho, I already have enough accusations of plagiarism for one debate.

I don't think noob-sniping is a problem. You only have two options if you want to get a lot of debating in; 1. debate the same active members you disagree with on various issues over and over and over again, or 2. debate noobs.

Noobs need debating partners, too.
If you're reading this, you're awesome and you should feel awesome.

I'd like to make a few points. Part of me believes there are some DDO users who would like an easy win and set up such a trap. Part of me also believes though that DDO users may not be aware that some debates they do are just stupid (like the one with the cartoon) and haven't learned yet thus they are unaware it may be a noob trap. Part me is also aware that noobs and experienced users can (for the most part) accept debates no matter what. There can be restrictions, but usually those who do so want a good quality debate. Also, if noobs host a debate and an experienced user accepts, I have no problem. To me this isn't as bad as some think. When I have occasionally debated noobs I feel my format and my quality of arguments gives them the picture of what DDO is like and may help them later thus making them more experienced as time goes on. This is my "hard lesson" usually I am one to host debates though and they are both open to noobs and experienced users, it does not matter to me who accepts.

Yes; it's called challenging Dairygirl to a debate.

Good ol' Dairygirl. I love it when she occasionally comes back for those festive easy wins everyone gets. Makes people feel good.
well...it barely gives any elo boost. Plus, you could always try to noob-snipe a better noob. I've noob-sniped noob-snipers. XD

Do you release your noobs after trapping them? I would think it is the humane thing to do.
