And by pet peeves, I mean things that drive me murderously furious.

1. People who instigate as con as push the BoP onto the contender.

Nothing on this site irritates me more than when I see an interesting resolution and click on the debate, only to see that the instigator is already arguing the negative. Also, the point of giving the instigator an Elo boost for winning is to offset the risk that comes with not having the last word, so when you make it a rule that the contender has to pass the last round, it's no longer even worth my time to take the debate as devil's advocate because I lose both the last-word advantage and the Elo-boost advantage that's meant to come with losing the last-word.

I'm pretty sure there's a passage in the bible stating that the deepest circle of Hell is reserved for these people. Don't quote me on that.

2. Forfeiting rounds

Sure, thanks to the forfeit I'm guaranteed to win the debate, but the win is worthless now. Conceding the debate is one thing, but flat out forfeiting means every round before it was now a waste of my time.

3. Excessive noob sniping

Hey, I understand being in a dry-spell and just wanting to debate someone... anyone. After all, the active user-base on this site is a lot smaller than the total user-base, so if you want to rack up a lot of debates, you either have to debate the same people over and over again, or you have to debate some noobs here and there.

But if you have page after page of debates where you're the contender against someone who started a debate, then never logged on again, then colour me unimpressed. Literally anybody could do that.

4. People who start non-meta threads in the Debate.org forum

The way I see it, the DDO forum is specifically for DDO issues, like if you're looking for a debate partner for a specific resolution, or to argue about how BoP is defined, or to b*tch about minor things other people on DDO do as though they're committing the most heinous crimes imaginable. Those sorts of things.

For all other topics, there are other forums. Too many of these new forums ought to be in misc. rather than here.

5. People who don't vote on my debates

Why do you hate me? =(

Anyway, I'll probably add more later. feel free to expand on the list yourself. I'm sure I'm not the only one with DDO-related pet peeves.
If you're reading this, you're awesome and you should feel awesome.

People whose arguments are largely copy-pasted from other sources. If I have any respect for a person who does this, it will diminish to a large degree. An exception would be if his opponent were unworthy of spending time to debate properly against.

Fortunately I'm pretty sure I'm the only guy to EVER defeat someone even after a plagiarism....not to mention I used my opponent's own arguments against him.

Plagiarising to such an extent should count as an automatic loss. However, what I referred to was the extreme use of copy-pasted arguments even though one uses quotation marks and notes the references. Nothing wrong with citing another source once in a while. Doing so instead of doing the job for oneself is tasteless.

I only have one Pet Peeve and that's the people who just jump ten-thousand leagues to other topics that don't support what they said. If someone says "Bob said people are bad." then goes on to show that Bob does not like people this doesn't support the claim that Bob made a quotable contribution. It's always been the one thing that grinds my gears when it comes to debates because these people who commit this are insanely verbose and tend to never actually back up their own statements.
