I guess it is commonplace for such an exercise to occur when one leaves this site, so while I was gone, it has been a thorn in my side for too long, that I never gave a proper goodbye. I have come back to fulfill this duty, and to fulfill this duty only. So, without further ado, this is the last testament of Daytonanerd.

Why am I leaving/left, you may be asking? Well, before we rush straight to that conclusion, it is important to know why I came here, and stuck out on this site for such a long period of time.

I initially came to this site by chance. It was never my intention to be a full-time member of a debating site. I found Debate.org via a Google search of cases for Wilt Chamberlain being the greatest basketball player of all time. I joined the site to participate in one debate, only one, and that was to make a firm case for Wilt Chamberlain being the best.

That debate may not have gone over well, but something dragged me into this site, and kept me for so long. I guess I just found the people here to be very interesting, and I found through the users an experience I never could have imagined coming on. Interesting debates, great forum games, site politics, user drama. Somehow, all of this kept me enveloped in what this site had to offer.

However, everyone grows. That is one of the great facets of all humankind. We don't stay in one rut, doing one thing for all time. We grow as people, do different things, live different parts of life. This growing, which happens in everyone everyday, caught up to me in my interest to this site.

There became a point where I just developed a general apathy for the site. I started not really caring anymore. I have realized that I have no use for being a member here, and I don't even really like being on here, now. I am finished with debate.org.

What I did bring to the site? I will leave that for you, the readers, the general populace of DDO to decide. What have I done for this site? What have I achieved? What have I created? What have I destroyed? I don't care anymore. Make my legacy to be whatever you want it to be.

But I do have one final request, to you people of DDO. The one aspect of my legacy that I want to carry on. I share the same wish that Freddie Mercury wished. Make me out to be anything. Just never make me boring.

Goodbye,
Daytonanerd

Bye Daytona. You will be missed. :<

I don't care about whether an ideology is "necessary" or not,
I care about how to solve problems,
which is what everyone else should also care about.

Goodbye,
Daytonanerd

I enjoyed conversing with you, Daytona. We never reached a conclusion regarding Lelouch's survival. You never got to finish DDO House of Cards. If you leave, you won't even get to see what happens next in OUAD. But if you're ready to go, you're ready to go. Go off to bigger and better things. You'll be missed.
