2014 has been a hot year for debating so far. So, please, take a break from the petty God and abortion arguments and focus and educate yourself about the current problems worldwide. Here, I have a list of some topics I'm open to debating, and you should also be, too!

-Should the U.S declare war on ISIS?
-Is the media blowing Ebola out of porportion?
-Hong Kong: Is/was the protest justified?
-Should joining a terrorist group be a criminal action?
-Should we continue the search for MH370?
-Should we start taking extreme measures to protect the environment?
-Is Obama's plans on the world's crisis solid and will they work?

It would probably be hard to find someone take the Con position on that one.

-Should the U.S declare war on ISIS?

Hmmm... not sure which side I'd take on this initially, but I'll be happy to research it and think on it.

-Is the media blowing Ebola out of porportion?

I'd happily take Pro, but I don't know who'd be willing to take Con.

-Hong Kong: Is/was the protest justified?
-Should joining a terrorist group be a criminal action?
-Should we continue the search for MH370?
-Should we start taking extreme measures to protect the environment?

I'd be happy to take Pro on this as long as I could limit it to one measure.

-Is Obama's plans on the world's crisis solid and will they work?

I might be willing to do the MH370 one, after I do some research on it

There's a possibility I might take you up on that, but I'd have to do my research. My pro is very weak, so it's actually safe to say I am undecided.

-Should the U.S declare war on ISIS?

No, because to declare war on them would be to recognize them as a "state."

-Is the media blowing Ebola out of proportion?

No, because while the risk of an epidemic is not likely, it is possible, and it is better for people to be paranoid than ignorant.

-Hong Kong: Is/was the protest justified?

I have no opinion, because I don't know a lot about it.

-Should joining a terrorist group be a criminal action?

As if this is up for debate... of course it should be, and it should be punishable by indefinite detention.

-Should we continue the search for MH370?

Yes.

-Should we start taking extreme measures to protect the environment?

I'm not sure your standard of "extreme" is comparable to mine, but to the extent we are able without totally upending society, we should take aggressive measures to protect the environment.

-Is Obama's plans on the world's crisis solid and will they work?

Right now, the President is cleaning up a mess that he allowed to happen. The lesson from Obama's presidency is that when the United States does not actively project power, very bad people start to think that the tides of fortune are changing in their favor. That's a nice metaphorical way of saying that the United States is the indispensable nation. We must project power because ours is the only power that keeps those who would do the world harm at bay. It's a transactional cost of maintaining the stability afforded to us in a unipolar world, and there are always going to be transactional costs. The cost of of not projecting power is chaos, which we have seen emerge generally since Obama took office.

I wouldn't debate these, but these are my opinions

-Should the U.S declare war on ISIS?

No

-Is the media blowing Ebola out of porportion?

Definitely

-Hong Kong: Is/was the protest justified?

Not familiar

-Should joining a terrorist group be a criminal action?

As much of a criminal action as joining a gang

-Should we continue the search for MH370?

Not familiar

-Should we start taking extreme measures to protect the environment?

No, but we should take steps towards protecting the environment.

-Is Obama's plans on the world's crisis solid and will they work?

Yes because: explosions.

-Is the media blowing Ebola out of porportion?

I'm sure you can find a con.

-Hong Kong: Is/was the protest justified?

Yes, protests are always justified.

-Should joining a terrorist group be a criminal action?

I would take con on this one.

-Should we continue the search for MH370?

Only if it leads us to Atlantis.

-Should we start taking extreme measures to protect the environment?

No, we must rid the world of pollen.

-Is Obama's plans on the world's crisis solid and will they work?
