Don't listen to these fools. They're just trolling you. It's Bring or Penalty. It's a standard procedure in DDO; when someone says that you need to claim full BoP, you must always add the word "BoP" after every sentence, otherwise you'll lose the debate.

So, like this:

Pro: My opponent must accept full BoP for this debate.
Con: Very well. BoP. I will await Pro's first argument. BoP.

One would expect serious responses on a debate site. It stands for "Bind on Pickup," and is a reference to the World of Warcraft looting system. When an item drops, only your character can use it, and it can only be sold to a non-player vendor for a fixed price. On the other side some items are of the "Bind on Equip" type, and you can sell them to other players for prices of your choice, high or low often depending on the market competition. Not many references to BoE are made here, which displays ignorance of the WoW economy among the members.

LMAO, I can't believe no-one has actually broken it down yet. This is absurd.

A few were telling the truth, it means 'Burden of Proof'

When debating any issue, there is an implicit burden of proof on the person asserting a claim.

So, for instance, if you wanted to start a debate with the resolution, "All apples are red," with you being in the Pro stance, then it would be your burden (BoP) to prove your position that 'all apples are red'. If you are unable to prove the truth of that statement (or in the case of debates, that resolution) then you would fail to meet your burden of proof and rightfully lose the debate.

If you were in the Con stance, then it would be up to you to poke holes in your opponents' proofs. So, if you were Con, you could share an image of a green apple, which would effectively disprove your opponents argument and then you would rightfully win.

This is generally what the 'Burden of Proof' is when debating. Hope this info helps!

No fun.

I saw my opportunity to be the first responder and didn't take the necessary moment to come up with anything more creative. It was a trade off.

Bring Out Penises- Basically, it means 'man up.' It's obviously a sexist term used to say- bring out your best in the debate.

Pfft. Don't listen to those meanies up there. This is the *obvious* explanation. ;-)

which is what everyone else should also care about.

LOL that's absolutely ridiculous, of course it doesn't mean that. :/
Stop trolling the poor guy.

Seriously though.. it means Biggest obligation of provocation. If one side of the debate has the biggest obligation of provocation, they're obligated to instigate the discussion and the other side is obligated to rebut and contend. This is what people mean when they say "my opponent has the BOP", as their opponent has to instigate all initial arguments.

It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.
