Nope.
Solonkr~
I don't care about whether an ideology is "necessary" or not,
I care about how to solve problems,
which is what everyone else should also care about.

In essence, the world is fucked up and you can either ignore it, become cynical or bitter about it.

Found the site while looking up for a debate topic I was supposed to do irl, but then I got replaced irl. Thought the site looked interested and I joined, exactly a year ago. :-)

Yes, and I definitely prefer IRL. It's faster, more engaging and more exciting.

Haven't done it much, though. If anything, I prefer conversation, and if anything, I prefer conversation in person.

Yes, I've debated irl, and it was pretty fun ^_^

I think the best part for me about debating IRL is the cross examination.... I'm a really aggressive debater apparently, so it's really fun for me when i make someone cry, but then i feel kinda bad after the initial adrenalin rush lol

Yea i suppose, i like debating online because in rl, people interrupt way too much and things can get heated vs. online where people can cool down and think about it more logically.

Cross-ex is my favorite part too. It's lots of fun to get your opponent to admit to all sorts of stuff and then crush them in the next speech. :D

In a formal debate, you can't really interrupt, but what you said is most true of a conversational debate.

One thing i hate though is when you ask them a simple question and they start rambling on and on or if they ask you a question but wont let you answer, like, what? -_-'

Yea, i don't like formal debates at least the ones i watched because it's all over the place at times. People don't cite sources and it's not readily accessible. With online debating, you can get easy access and as a society that relies heavily on writing, it would be great if you can quietly focus on your opponent's arguments.

That's why I like the debate format on this site, however the voting system is flawed. It has the potential to be great.

True. Being short, sweet and female in a debate can work in your favor. (I don't know if you are short though) :D

One thing i hate though is when you ask them a simple question and they start rambling on and on or if they ask you a question but wont let you answer, like, what? -_-'

Definitely. I had to debate my younger brother and he did that to me in CX and I was quite frustrated at him.

I can't stand when people ramble.... I kinda cut them off and move on when they go on for too long lol

If they won't let me answer, usually i interrupt them and start answering and then i usually get my way ^_^

Yeah, but sometimes judges will think you are just being rude.

i do it in a really really nice way that they have no choice but to stop lol plus i have a specific tone that i debate in that makes me irresistible xD

True. Being short, sweet and female in a debate can work in your favor. (I don't know if you are short though) :D

Depends on if you think 6'8 is short haha nahhh i'm not really adorable so much as i can worm my way through things and get away with it LOL I tend to get my way a lot more than i should in debate rounds xD

Though tbh, im not really a debate person so much as more of a IE person *shrugs* i do both so it doesnt matter that much

No, I have not, but I think I'm going to start when I get to high school.

If you mean conversational debates, then I most definitely prefer online debate because it lets me think my arguments and rebuttals through and generally doesn't get as heated.
