Welcome, my dear associates of DDO.

I come before you with a proposition.

For too long have we attempted to go about our usual business here on DDO under the weight of an iron fist which so cowardly hides behind a curtain until the time comes for it to suppress the certain expressions of others which it declares with such dictation as being unsuitable for this arena. It has censored us, banned us and kept from us utilities which we would find being of a benefit to this site. This menace of vicious intrudement and vial imposition is the moderator and owner of this site.
I see the injustice but alone am powerless to stop it. So I am here among your company to humbly ask for your help and finally end this war of which we are all apart of that has drug on for far too long now.
A chance has now sprung up to take what it is rightfully ours. For whatever reason, the moderator has put the site up for sale.
Now we can do one of two things; wait around and hope that somebody with more sense will buy the site and concede to our opinions on how the site should be run OR we can actually buy the site ourselves!
It is expensive but if we all chip in I think we can make a great change for the better.
I propose that on the newly user-owned site there will be a new tab for our legislature which will be accessible to all DDO members. Anyone can sponsor a bill and everyone can vote on it, then whatever changes get passed will be put into action.
Together we can finally build DDO the way we would have it! Just think of how much more fun it would be!
Please, I plead with you to join me in this revolution!
DEMOCRACY NOW! DEMOCRACY NOW! DEMOCRACY NOW!

Sign your name to this list if you are in favor of the action. And also discuss.

As a politician I have to remain non-partisan in this matter.

In other news, PoeJoe, whats so bad?

Since when are politicians non-partisan? Fight for what you believe in damnit! If you don't agree with the idea than don't add your name, if you do then do add it.

It's never going to happen...obviously.

But let's say it could...

Who would program the site?
Who would pay the programmers?
Who would front the massive server costs?
I mean, who is going to buy servers and maintain them?
How is this going to be in any way practical?

Et cetera...

I'd add my name Freedo, but like I said, nothing will come out of it in this manner. I mean, even PoeJoe, the epitome of DDO sycophants, is laughing.

Screw Democracy.
: If you weren't new here, you'd know not to feed me such attention. This is like an orgasm in my brain right now. *hehe, my name is in a title, hehe* (http://www.debate.org...)

Just in case I get into some BS with FREEDO again about how he's NOT a narcissist.

"The law is there to destroy evil under the constitutional government."
So... what's there to destroy evil inside of and above the constitutional government?

Representative Democracy isn't Democracy. It centralizes the power in the hands of a few. If this plan were for Representative Democracy I would suggest we elect someone to buy the site. But no, we should all control it together.

There would obviously have to be someone who owns the servers but the policy would be decided by the people who it really matters most to.

I am speaking of direct-democracy. Yes, it is a decentralization of power.

Because he's talking about creating a collectivized DDO, where we all have our own little shares and responsibilities and influence in an official manner.

That makes me lol.

I don't think it's so far fetched. We can achieve this if we just get serious.

An irrelevant or at best statistically insignificant difference in decentralization.

Just like how Battle Royale wouldn't end up in one survivor if everyone got serious, just like how governments wouldn't end up corrupt if every citizen got serious.

It's not gonna happen.
