11/17/2014 9:27:25 AM Posted: 3 years ago Do people just lack self-control or what?
Why do so many people use the real name of others in place of the user name? What is the point if you have to use both names, so people know who you are talking about? I find it annoying and a bit reckless, and easily preventable. Can it stop, please? I have purposely only given my name out to a few due to this reckless use of name dropping, and yet my name has been exposed at least twice. Personally, I am honest here because I have a bit on anonymity (ironic, since so many people are bastard trolls for the same reason). I say things I cannot really say in real life, and certainly things I don't want certain people to see. That is all. At least the noble sheep provides us warm sweaters. It is a mild annoyance, I'll give you that, but with the amount of trolls and solicitors on here, and a few of my enemies, I am a bit more leary. Perhaps it is an age thing, and given that my identity has been stolen due to my own stupidity once, and my bank debit card has been stolen twice, I like to keep info under lock and key, and I don't think I can trust people to keep it secret. Again, I've said some pretty damning things in the past, that might bar me from employment, like being a felon. But, I know quite a few people's real names, and I don't think they wanted me to know. It's a matter of respect in keeping an identity secret, more than any real issue of harm. Obviously, some people don't care. Others, like me, however, do. And, given the amount of bad blood and drama of late, it makes me wonder. At least the noble sheep provides us warm sweaters. 11/17/2014 1:06:20 PM Posted: 3 years ago I think people over estimate what they can find, or more accurately, the accuracy of what they can find. There was some troll a while back that was calling people cowards for attacking him while hiding behind user names and that if we were to meet him face to face, he'd kick our butts (of course, he was also hiding behind his user name, but whatever).
I told him my first and last name and basically "come at me bro!" He tried to intimidate me by saying that he knew where I lived in Sherwood Oregon. Unfortunately, the address he found I had moved out from about 8 years before hand, so he was just a little behind the times. "Wanting Red Rhino Pill to have gender" |

Also, co-workers who I thought were friends, trying to frame me for theft. Forgive me for wanting to ensure anonymity to those who want it. Although, there are plenty of people who don't care for it. There are probably ten users who may know my first name, and five that know my full name. Whether by mistake, coincidence, or intent, two of these people have stated my name publicly on these forums. I've noticed it is usually teens that blab names, and also teens that usually don't care. I suppose my rant should have been more to be more careful about it, not saying it shouldn't be done.
