Even though Dino is forfeiting, I'm still pretty happy with the round I posted :D

http://www.debate.org...

First real policy debate! I could have done a lot better (the voter feedback has been great), and I'm not sure which direction voting is gonna go, but I still think I did well for my first time....

http://www.debate.org...

I've never had a debate get so much attention or be so well-received.

http://www.debate.org...

This really needed more votes, but TN05 put forth a strong opposition for me to test out my new case against.

http://www.debate.org...

I had to rush on the final round, which cost me the win, but I'm still pretty happy with my performance in rounds 2 & 3.

My best debate in my opinion is one that I technically lost. I honestly believe that I definitely won, even though I lost. This was before there were voter restrictions.

Yeah, I felt a good deal of satisfaction because of that. Still, it was a disappointing loss.

I agree, more people could have voted on that. The first time I scanned over it it looked like Roy won, which was why I was "pro" on Border fence [see http://www.debate.org...] XD
But re-looking over it, it's actually much, MUCH closer than just "roy wins end of story".

I think it goes without saying that this debate pushed me hard. It's a topic I didn't know much about to start, and a type of debate I haven't done much, against an opponent I respect deeply who put up an amazing fight. It could just as easily have ended in his victory.

http://www.debate.org...

Another really difficult debate, though one I had a little more of a handle on to start. I don't think I made the best case here despite my efforts, but I think it was relatively effective nonetheless, especially on a relatively intriguing topic. Phantom put up one hell of a fight.

http://www.debate.org...

This is me stepping out of my comfort zone in a big way. Learned a lot from doing this debate. I didn't even know I could debate philosophy before this, so I'm really grateful to Ajab for having this debate with me.

http://www.debate.org...

By far the best performance to date at the time, and it won me the first ODT, so I'm pretty happy with this debate.

http://www.debate.org...

Ironically, what I feel was my best debate on global warming was not actually about global warming per se, but only the consequences and the future climate.

http://www.debate.org...

My first semi-philosophical debate that I felt I did very good in. The arguments were some of the longest I ever had to write (time-wise).

http://www.debate.org...

My only loss on this account. I felt like I put forth a sub par performance in this debate, and I see what I could have done better, but everyone says this is one of the best economics debates on the site, so I put it here.
I'm becoming less defined as days go by, fading away, and well you might say, I'm losing focus, kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.

My most recent debate with Wylted. I think we both did a good job but I think I laid out a compelling case.

http://www.debate.org...

Here I managed to take a ridiculously unbalanced resolution from one of the best non-serious debaters on DDO and force a draw.

http://www.debate.org...

Although I technically lost this one, I think this is more or less a draw when you only count good voters. I had a pretty bad first round but was much better in rebuttals, especially given I took most of them from a more moderate standpoint than what I would normally use.

I think by "peak" performance, the OP isn't asking for my favorite debate(s), but rather those debate(s) in which my technical performance was at its best. Here would be some of those debates:

Abortion with DK: http://www.debate.org... [I will always remember this as one of my more challenging debates against a classy opponent]

NSA Surveillance with Gandalf: http://www.debate.org... [one of my earlier debates, but, for my skill level then, it was a really good effort, I think; I wish his last round had been more robust though.]

My debate with Whiteflame [already cited in this thread] would also number among these.

I think I peaked way back in 2002 or so, but that way before DDO. On here, it's hard to say.

Peak performance IRL probably was the Flowermound-Marcus swing...two years ago? Maybe three. One of the better schools at the tournament (Hockaday) was a school I had always had trouble doing well against (by that I mean I always got sh*t-stomped whenever I faced someone from there). That tournament the RNG gods frowned on me and put me in 7 out of the total of ten prelim rounds (five per "tournament"). I broke on both parts of the tournament, and out of the three elim rounds I had, two of them were versus Hockaday.

Came out with a record of something like 6 wins 3 losses against Hockaday. I was a proud man that day.

On here? Not sure. But I'm 100% proud of every debate I've done in the most recent tier tournament though!

....what's that? I haven't actually debated once yet? ....then how am I in finals?

I'm honestly not quite satisfied with any debate I've had. Although I have certainly gone up against many prominent members and a solid amount of my debates have received good reception, I many times look back in dissatisfaction at the arguments I presented and the way I presented them.

In my debate against Bsh1, The Conjugal View of Marriage is Philosophically Valid, I look back realizing I was unprepared for some of the points Bsh1 brought up and my responses were a) not great to begin with b) sloppily presented. That debate is honestly one of the debates I am most greatly disappointed in. I think I was so used to defending the conjugal view from a societal point of view, that I was unprepared to defend it philosophically, and this showed in the debate.

In other debates like In Christianity, the Use of the Crucifix is Idolatry, and It is More Preferable to be an Extrovert Than an Introvert in Modern Western Society, I felt that I had strong opening arguments but lacked very much in terms of my response.

I am still looking to have a debate in which I am completely satisfied in, win or lose.

It wasn't that great of a tourny in retrospect I mean I got kicked otu of octos in both tournaments (by f*cking Hockaday), but oh well.

lol we were top seed and dropped to a 2-2 whos case was utterly without evidence or logic, who didnt even finish their speeches. probably the most unjust loss i've ever suffered, i'm still salty almost 2 years later

For my best performance, I would guess the following (although they are not necessarily good debates):

Strong Atheism - http://www.debate.org...
Science has rendered theism unreasonable - http://www.debate.org...
Presuppositional Arguments - http://www.debate.org...
God Exists (I lost) - http://www.debate.org...

For my favourite debates, probably my debates with Zarroette (AntiNatalism) or AngelofDeath (Zombies).
