Last time on AGOD: Jibber discovers the hidden relationship Adam and Liz have. Adam wants to get drunk during her wedding to Lord Romani. Jibber agrees to join him reluctantly. Zarroete is still bada** and dangerously losing her follower's trust. Lord Altar receives word that raiders will soon come to kidnap the Queen. He quickly and swiftly takes action.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

He took the sword out of the man's chest and watched it gleam red.

They were in the stables, having breached the gates of Daltonia. Revenge cleaned the sword with his shirt. He didn't care about hygiene. Not when he was covered in blood every hour or so.

His partner, Phantom, had killed the farmer by the lake. And he saw him walk over to the farmer's house to kill his family and rob his goods.

"Make sure you bring me some fruits! An apple would be nice." Revenge called out. The man may be old but he still had the strength of a bear, carrying all that armour on him.

"You can kiss my arse Rev boy." He shouted back.

The man Rev had just killed started gurgling blood, obviously not dead. Rev was pissed that he should dirty his sword again. So he kicked the man's face with a force that snapped his neck.

Who is this person? Rev thought to himself. Probably the farmer's neighbour. Probably has a family of his own. But Rev couldn't care less. His only mission was to get the horses ready for his brothers to ride into the city. Now that, was where the real fun starts. Rev grinned excitedly.

It suited him, with his name being Revenge. The only price of being a brother was that you lost your old identity, and donned a new name. Revenge wasn't always Revenge. He was a Bob or a Williams before. Perhaps a Christopher. That was the thing about being part of the brothers, they make your forget who you were.

Rev walked up the hill to the farm, where the farmer kept all the horses. Once there, he stroked the nearest horse he could find. A fine stallion, twice the size he was. Or more like three times the size. Rev was only 13 namedays old.

Riding back to Phantom, he saw him carry a big bucket of fruits. He cantered to a stop and slid down.

"I see you've brought those fruits."

"Seeing is believing aye. Now shut up and help me carry them. They're not just for you. Once the mission's completed we'll celebrate with a feast."

"Will there be mead to drink?" Rev asked, hopeful.

"Knock yourself out lad. Just don't vomit it all out and have some poor brother clean it up for ya."

"Big Mike could clean it." He smirked at the thought.

"He"s not Big Mike, he's the Lord of Darkness. And ain't no way he's cleaning up your sh*t."

"What's so special about him? Aren't we all equals? Hello? Egalitarians here."

"Oh my seven focking gods Rev, shut up for once."

Phantom gave half the load to Rev. He was already carrying weapons like a pickaxe. So Rev got the bucket of fruits and the bag of jewels. Strangely, Rev didn't like thievery.

"Must we really steal?"

"What you complaining about boy?"

"We didn't earn these." Phantom looked at him quizzically.

"You're odder than you look. Listen, we brothers need fresh supply if we're going to continue fighting for democracy. You see here dead farmers sacrificed themselves to help our cause. They're only dead cause they were in our way when we came to take the supplies. So now they're dead, all their stuff belongs to us see?"

"Right." Rev had been taught to kill back when he was just 9 summers old. He learned it in the bar fights at the slums of Rat Alley. Roads so full of sh*t, people killed for shelter from the flying waste that came from above the rooftops of houses. The river nearby didn't do much help either. It was so undrinkable that it was bottled up and sold as poison.

"Come on boy. I'll help you take those horses back to camp."

Rev followed along. He had met Phantom in those slums. Saw him being kicked by some fat men who were drunk. The old man had been skinny then, only bone and flesh. And Rev had saved him from the mob attack by hitting the men with a wooden plank. They went down easily since the wood had nails jutting out. Rev always remembered times like that. Uneasy times. And those uneasy times went on for quite awhile.

Until he joined the brothers.

Rev smiled at that. No thought warmed him more than remembering how he joined the brothers of the Lord of Darkness.

The pair continued walking up the hill. The sun had fully set and the pair entered the night.

The night of the raid.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The wedding groomers were fixing her dress while she stood facing the mirror. She saw her black hair fall straight to her shoulders. This time it shined, still moist from the bath. She wondered what Romani's hair would be like. All fuzzy and spongy.

The dress was yellow in colour and one of the most beautiful in all of Daltonia. The fabric was woven in two layers with the best silk in town. A hundred rose petals were embroidered on the bottom, all the way to the top.

"My lady, is this too tight?" one of the handmaidens asked.

"No, it's fine Isabella. It's perfect." She told her. The wedding was in an hour. She could not wait. What a perfect day!

Her handmaiden gave a nod and continued doing other jobs. So many jobs to do, Liz thought. When will it all be done?

Her husband was in another room, preparing as well. Both of them just preparing. It seemed to take forever.

But eventually it was done. Her wedding was fixed and she was fully prepared before she knew it. It felt as if the gods were blessing her. Giving her the happiest day of her life. To marry a Stormborn. An honorable title given to those who have served the realm far beyond any soldier. Ser Anthony had gotten close, but was knighted instead. To be Stormborn was something so amazing, it guaranteed a lifetime of financial support by the royal court.

She paused in her thoughts as she walked with her handmaidens to the wedding court in Belfast dome. Did she love Romani because of that? Because of his prestigious status and honourable deeds? Or was the love deeper? She tried affirming to herself that yes, she really did love Romani with all her heart. And it was true. But did she love him for the right reasons?

They arrived at the dome a quarter of an hour later. The night sky was dark. As dark as the day she met Adam. Adam. She liked Adam. The boy was one of her closest friends. And she found it amusing how he always got in trouble. She could even say she loved him as a brother. But not in the way I love Romani.

She braced herself as they entered the dome through the gold plated doors. Instantly, her eyes were met with bright light from the hanging chandeliers. The immense hall was packed with dozens of people socialising from their seats. All of them dressed for the occasion. The ceilings were high and dizzying. And the walls glowed yellow.

"Here she is! The bride of the day!" Cheered a standing man. The crowd turned to look and cheers erupted, people smiling and the dome filled with thunderous clapping. Liz felt suddenly special. As if she was a princess.

Her husband, Stormborn Romani Bluesteel stood at the platform, with his blue cloak and leather pants, gawking at her beauty. His mouth open and eyes wide. Am I really that beautiful? A white haired priest stood next to him, dressed in a golden cloak and hat, startled by her beauty as well. Liz looked down at her yellow flowing dress that touched the floor. It matched the walls and somehow made the room brighter. Liz was stunned.

The music played, she spotted the band at the second floor, over the railings. Violins, trumpets and women singing happy songs.

I'm going to get married. She thought to herself. Romani will be mine forever! The priest was reciting old sermons. Liz was stuck on the floor and didn't know what to do.

"Go on. Walk to your husband. Go and be married!" A smiling plump woman to her left said and Liz stepped closer, moving slowly along the red carpeted aisle that led her to her one true love.

She walked a little quicker, smiling, a tear forming at the corner of her eye. This was everything she wanted. Everything she ever dreamed of since losing her father. Someone to be by her side forever.

And she gained her pace until she was halfway up to the platform. The light blaring her eyes. Her husband calling her name, cheering her. Yelling, his eyes red with happy joyous tears. The crowd roared, the music echoed.

And I am free. ~
And I am true. ~
For the winds will not ~
make me part ~
No lion,
No beast,
Shall break my spell. ~
And I will thrive ~
With a beating heart ~

It doesn't matter anymore now. She thought. None of it does. I'm at my happiest. I am triumphant. This is my glory and no one shall stop me from marrying this man.
And finally, she was there, up on the platform with him. She wasted no time to kiss him full on the lips and hug him. Hugging him tight, like hanging on to dear life. The crowd roared with cheering again. The priest standing next to them began. His voice was old and soft. And the dome was hushed.

"Do you, Stormborn Romani Bluesteel, take this woman to be your soul, to be bounded by the fabric of her very essence and being. Do you accept Lady Liz -" Liz jerked an eyebrow at him. Romani smiled. -" of House Bluesteel, to be your wife forever and ever until death comes in your way?"

"Even beyond death. Yes. Yes I do," a tear streaked his smiling face.

"And do you lady Liz accept Lord Romani as your faithful husband in this moment and in every moment?"

Lic paused. She was too full of a sudden rush of excitement. It consumed her and permeated her. What sort of life would we have? How many kids should we have? Where will we live? Who will be our new friends?

The excitement made her tremble so much, it made Romani worried.

"Liz, are you alright?"

"Yes! Yes I do!" She said, crying, tears flowing. She will never have to be alone anymore. Never have to bear the pain of her missing father by herself. She could be happy now. For the first time in 8 years, she could be happy.

The cheers from the crowd were deafening.

"Then it is done. The husband shall now make the final arrangement." Without hesitation, Lord Romani produced a silver ring. The diamond was tiny but it shined like a million stars combined.

He knelt before Liz, still crying and smiling at the same time. She held out her hand. She didn"t care how she looked, she was happy and that was all that mattered.

"My love." Romani said in the most sweetes voice she had ever heard in her life and he slid the ring in her ring finger. It fitted perfectly, Liz could not believe it. Her nose was stuffy but she laughed anyway. And the two of them laughed together while the crowd was standing up, clapping and shouting. Cheering to no end.

And then it happened.

It happened too fast.

In a split second, the world slowed down and Liz swore she saw a something sharp and metal fly toward her. And then the feeling stopped and the world moved.

She heard a gasp behind her and a loud chunk. The crowd screamed, panicked and running, hitting each other. Liz watched in horror as the old priest fell on the floor, an arrowhead poking out the back of his head.

Liz felt the embrace of Romani as he shielded her from the flying arrows. He dragged her backwards, away from the scrambling masses and away from the platform, out towards the back door. Liz's head spun as the arrows struck the walls, sticking there, and one of them narrowly missing her shoulder, Romani was carrying her in his arms now, kicking the back door open. They left the dome and ran into the night, into the streets. He stopped for a moment. He was shouting something at her, asking something. But Liz was still out of focus, staring at the burning buildings lined up alongside the street, the running armless people and crawling peasants. Blood was everywhere and there was a swarm of people heading towards them from the far left of the street. People in blue, black and grey cloaks. Romani carried her away in the opposite direction, cradling her close to him like a baby.

They headed towards the Palace. Romani running and panting, screaming with fear as the crowd behind gained on them. She could see them carrying sticks, spears, torchlights. Some even carried bows and arrows.

There was only one thing she could think of. She closed her eyes, made a prayer to the gods and asked them, asked them as she clutched the sweating cotton shirt of Romani.

Why me?

She stopped him and told him she could run herself. He paused and gently laid her on the ground. The crowd screaming murder and inching close. But with Liz able to run and Romani free of weight, they ran faster than the crowd.

Soon they escaped safely and unharmed. They arrived inside the palace, the gates were unlocked and they got through easily with no guards in sight. Romani wheezed as he steadied himself against a pillar, catching his breath. Liz was panting and holding her knees.

"What...huff..Was that?" she managed to ask.

"I - don't...huff...know.," Romani took a sharp breath.

"Raiders." another voice said, startling them. Lord Altar appeared out of the shadows from the pillars. A grim look cast on his face. He was in a red battle armour with dark red robes touching the floor.

"Come. We must hurry."

"Lord Altar? What are you - Where are we going?" Romani asked. Liz was relieved that it wasn't one of the cloaked me. She came next to him.

"What's happened?" She asked Lord Altar.

"There's no time to explain." He replied, lips tightening into a thin line. "We have to go."

"Where?" Romani persisted. Lord Altar took a moment and then he replied.

"Escape. Away from the kingdom. Away from this wretched town and somewhere safer. The Illiquarian mountains."

The two were shocked and couldn't move. But gradually Liz gathered her strength and held Romani's hand. His fingers laced around her ring. She nodded to the Lord.

"Then lead the way."

LOL ADAM XD

Getting drunk during a wedding...classy.

You never cease to entertain me with your chapter openings, Adam.

Bruh, why not just rob 'em? I mean, I like blood in stories and all, but #overkill

Such brainwashing.

Oi, I'm not a midget! LOL

Although it'd weigh nine times more than me... XD
Riding back to Phantom, he saw him carry a big bucket of fruits. He cantered to a stop and slid down.

<3

Gimme.
"I see you've brought those fruits."

I see you enjoy stating the obvious.

I like him. XD
"Seeing is believing aye. Now shut up and help me carry them. They're not just for you. Once the mission's completed we'll celebrate with a feast."

Pfft. It's going to be all mine sooner or later.
"Will there be mead to drink?" Rev asked, hopeful.

He's thirteen and already drinking...

I like him even more. :3
"Knock yourself out lad. Just don't vomit it all out and have some poor brother clean it up for ya."

"Big Mike could clean it." He smirked at the thought.

You know, I can never take anyone with "Big" in their name seriously.
"He"s not Big Mike, he's the Lord of Darkness. And ain't no way he's cleaning up your sh*t."

Excuse me, Lord of Darkness? Could you please clean up my puke? :D
"What's so special about him? Aren't we all equals? Hello? Egalitarians here."

Pfft. There's no such thing as "equal" in society.
"Oh my seven focking gods Rev, shut up for once."

We all know that's impossible...
Phantom gave half the load to Rev. He was already carrying weapons like a pickaxe. So Rev got the bucket of fruits and the bag of jewels. Strangely, Rev didn't like thievery.

Are you for real? In RL I hate murder and like thievery... LOL
"Must we really steal?"

DO IT FOR THE FOOD BRUH
"What you complaining about boy?"

Amen.
"We didn't earn these." Phantom looked at him quizzically.

Point being?
"You're odder than you look. Listen, we brothers need fresh supply if we're going to continue fighting for democracy. You see here dead farmers sacrificed themselves to help our cause. They're only dead cause they were in our way when we came to take the supplies. So now they're dead, all their stuff belongs to us see?"

Such sensible logic. I like this guy.

I used to live in the ghetto, and fought in bars all the time. So...something like this?

"Come on boy. I'll help you take those horses back to camp."

I can't think of a witty comment for this one. LOL

Ah.
Rev smiled at that. No thought warmed him more than remembering how he joined the brothers of the Lord of Darkness.

Annie should be there, IMO. LOL
The pair continued walking up the hill. The sun had fully set and the pair entered the night.

The night of the raid.

Wut.

He took the sword out of the man's chest and watched it gleam red.

The sword, presumably. Pronouns are annoying sometimes.

They were in the stables, having breached the gates of Daltonia. Revenge cleaned the sword with his shirt. He didn't care about hygiene. Not when he was covered in blood every hour or so.

That's a lot of blood.

I'm marking this. I will refer to it again momentarily.

"You can kiss my arse Rev boy." He shouted back.

The man Rev had just killed started gurgling blood, obviously not dead. Rev was pissed that he should dirty his sword again. So he kicked the man's face with a force that snapped his neck.

Dayummmmm.

Who is this person? Rev thought to himself. Probably the farmer's neighbour. Probably has a family of his own. But Rev couldn't care less. His only mission was to get the horses ready for his brothers to ride into the city. Now that, was where the real fun starts. Rev grinned excitedly.

Probably the most bada$$ portrayal of Rev we have.

That could cut any number of ways.

"He"s not Big Mike, he's the Lord of Darkness. And ain't no way he's cleaning up your sh*t."

"What's so special about him? Aren't we all equals? Hello? Egalitarians here."

Redundant Rev :p

"Oh my seven focking gods Rev, shut up for once."

xD

Phantom gave half the load to Rev. He was already carrying weapons like a pickaxe. So Rev got the bucket of fruits and the bag of jewels. Strangely, Rev didn't like thievery.

Yet Rev was perfectly okay asking for fruit to be stolen for him. And why did a farmer have jewels?

"Must we really steal?"

"What you complaining about boy?"

"We didn't earn these." Phantom looked at him quizzically.

Yeah. Strange moral compass.

Um, no. They're not the good guys if Rev is a psycho.

"Right." Rev had been taught to kill back when he was just 9 summers old. He learned it in the bar fights at the slums of Rat Alley. Roads so full of sh*t, people killed for shelter from the flying waste that came from above the rooftops of houses. The river nearby didn't do much help either. Until he joined the brothers.

Rev smiled at that. No thought warmed him more than remembering how he joined the brothers of the Lord of Darkness.

Hmmmmmmm.

The pair continued walking up the hill. The sun had fully set and the pair entered the night.

The wedding groomers were fixing her dress while she stood facing the mirror. She saw her black hair fall straight to her shoulders. This time it shined, still moist from the bath. She wondered what Romani's hair would be like. All fuzzy and spongy.

Aww.

Liz looke

LOL ADAM XD

Getting drunk during a wedding...classy.

He took the sword out of the man's chest and watched it gleam red.

You never cease to entertain me with your chapter openings, Adam.
XD
They were in the stables, having breached the gates of Daltonia. Revenge cleaned the sword with his shirt. He didn't care about hygiene. Not when he was covered in blood every hour or so.

Oh. It's me.

Tada!
http://www.reactiongifs.com...
Lol
His partner, Phantom, had killed the farmer by the lake. And he saw him walk over to the farmer's house to kill his family and rob his goods.

Bruh, why not just rob 'em? I mean, I like blood in stories and all, but #overkill
Ever play Skyrim? The goddamn farmers always resist and fight. Steal a book and they'll have 10 guards to arrest you. Point being, it's hard to steal, gotta kill.
"Make sure you bring me some fruits! An apple would be nice." Revenge called out. The man may be old but he still had the strength of a bear, carrying all that armour on him.

I sound less hungry than usual...
I will note that.
"You can kiss my arse Rev boy." He shouted back.

I wish I had a grandpa like that. LOL
Lel.
The man Rev had just killed started gurgling blood, obviously not dead. Rev was pissed that he should dirty his sword again. So he kicked the man's face with a force that snapped his neck.

http://media.giphy.com...
XD
Who is this person? Rev thought to himself. Probably the farmer's neighbour. Probably has a family of his own. But Rev couldn't care less. His only mission was to get the horses ready for his brothers to ride into the city. Now that, was where the real fun starts. Rev grinned excitedly.

Fun = Blood

I approve.

Such brainwashing.

I couldn't care less. LOL
Rev walked up the hill to the farm, where the farmer kept all the horses. Once there, he stroked the nearest horse he could find. A fine stallion, twice the size he was. Or more like three times the size. Rev was only 13 namedays old.

Oi, I'm not a midget! LOL

Although it'd weigh nine times more than me... XD
I will note that.
Riding back to Phantom, he saw him carry a big bucket of fruits. He cantered to a stop and slid down.

<3

Gimme.
"I see you've brought those fruits."

I see you enjoy stating the obvious.

I like him. XD
Lol
"Seeing is believing aye. Now shut up and help me carry them. They're not just for you. Once the mission's completed we'll celebrate with a feast."

Pfft. It's going to be all mine sooner or later.
"Will there be mead to drink?" Rev asked, hopeful.

He's thirteen and already drinking...

I like him even more. :3
"Knock yourself out lad. Just don't vomit it all out and have some poor brother clean it up for ya."

*cackles*

LOL
XD
"Must we really steal?"

DO IT FOR THE FOOD BRUH
"What you complaining about boy?"

Amen.
"We didn't earn these." Phantom looked at him quizzically.

Point being?
"You're odder than you look. Listen, we brothers need fresh supply if we're going to continue fighting for democracy. You see here dead farmers sacrificed themselves to help our cause. They're only dead cause they were in our way when we came to take the supplies. So now they're dead, all their stuff belongs to us see?"

Such sensible logic. I like this guy.

I used to live in the ghetto, and fought in bars all the time. So...something like this?

http://media.giphy.com...
Lol XD
"Come on boy. I'll help you take those horses back to camp."

I can't think of a witty comment for this one. LOL
And those uneasy times went on for quite awhile.

http://media.giphy.com...
Lol!
Until he joined the brothers.

Ah.
Rev smiled at that. No thought warmed him more than remembering how he joined the brothers of the Lord of Darkness.

Annie should be there, IMO. LOL
Rofl
The pair continued walking up the hill. The sun had fully set and the pair entered the night.

The night of the raid.

Wut.

The wedding groomers were fixing her dress while she stood facing the mirror. She saw her black hair fall straight to her shoulders. This time it shined, still moist from the bath. She wondered what Romani's hair would be like. All fuzzy and spongy.

O_O
The dress was yellow in colour and one of the most beautiful in all of Daltonia. The fabric was woven in two layers with the best silk in town. A hundred rose petals were embroidered on the bottom, all the way to the top.

http://stream1.gifsoup.com...
Hmmm
"My lady, is this too tight?" one of the handmaidens asked.

"No, it's fine Isabella. It's perfect." She told her. The wedding was in an hour. She could not wait. What a perfect day!

LOL, when someone says "perfect," you know it's not going to be perfect.

Hehe
Usually.

What happened to the rest? Oh well.
