That just goes to show that the old guard and the expierenced members are indeed dying out. I applaud Mikal's party for going out and getting so many newer votes.

Why is this shocking?
I'm becoming less defined as days go by, fading away, and well you might say, I'm losing focus, kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.

I think we're all done hearing about the election...just shut up already...and I mean that in the least hostility possible...

There's so much we should want to forget about in regards to this weekend. All that we should think about is that Mikal is President, and Blade is assistant mod.

I would like to point out to all the those that feel frustration or anger because Mikal had more votes from less active members, and somehow that ties to him being either less effective or less legitimate, I would like to point out that Innomen did a very similar tactic the first time he ran (and would have won if Freedo, the 3rd party candidate, hadn't dropped out and told all his supporters to vote Cody) and he is the one that really created the legitimacy of the seat.

I'm not sure if that's actually reflected in the election results. The total number of experienced voters didn't decline, it's just that more noobs voted this election.

This isn't really that shocking.

And I think it's time to stop propagating the leftover negativity from this election.

If you're already aware of it, then it's probably not. However, the idea that the election was actually decided by people with fewer than 10 forum posts is somewhat shocking.

It think it might show a divide between members who have been here longer and are more active, but members who aren't as active are still members that are part of this site and are in different ways involved. This information isn't shocking, it shows that generally Mikal's strategy was to go for less experienced, but still contributing members while at the same time winning enough more active members of DDO.

I don't understand. I've been here six months, to debate, and never touch the forums. Does this mean Presidency doesn't affect me and I don't deserve a vote?

So much for debate.org then.
In what type of democracy does one have to contribute to politics before being entitled to vote? Reading their platforms and making a decision based on what they and their followers have to say is insufficient, I have to say things before I can understand what they're saying? Why can't I read the arguments, consider the propositions and determine that I think Blade was the best candidate even if I haven't actually said anything in forums?
