Bullish On DDO Politics

It may seem like I like to pick at scabs or straight up stab a scar, but in actuality I'm just a few days slower than everyone else.

These are my analyses on the politics of DDO. While it is true I do not participate in not am I aware of a vast majority of underlying DDO administrative precedes, I can speculate better than the next guy. The politics I'm about to describe aren't necessarily appearent, so one can't expect there to be anything official coming from myself or any other source.

On the DDO Elite.

This isn't just a running joke. The DDO Elite exists in the form of prominent members and other forces who think of DDO as their personal partyclub and takes the partying seriously.

Who are these members? First, they must has something to show for. 5k+ posts and 50+ debates are almost a must. They must have been around for 2 years, or retroactively knowledgable about pre-opinion section events and interactions. They are friends with each other, the type that have the "clique" and "in-circle" flavor to them. But these are things they have in common, not what ties them together. There is one thing that ties them together -- Airmax.

The DDOE wouldn't be the E without actual power. Airmax is a supporting beam of it all. I can name airmax because insulting airmax doesn't care about himself.

The beauty of power is not it's use, but it's threat. The best warrior wins the war before it is fought. An understanding, a precedent, an unspoken caste structure, whatever, is all that's needed to keep people in line.

What are these members' views? The first distinct I make is always that they have contempt for the masses thinly veiled in declarations of site experience. They talk to non-E with aristocratic tone and others flank to there support.

Mikal and imabench are not E, because Mikal lacks the tact, and bench interacts far too much with the masses. Elected officials are namable too.

On elections.

So we just had an election. This elections holds many titles: most votes, closest, more controversial, dirtiest.

Tie in with the DDOE. Only 2 of those I would consider to be an E voted for Mikal, with 1 more who switched his vote after he correctly perceived a break with DDOE methods, but incorrectly perceived the break's source and rationale.

On the other hand, I count approximately 14 DDOE voting for bladerunner, and a ton of DDOE wannabes (no derogation intended, as I am one).

Let's admit it. The presidency is largely irrelevant. It is nothing but a creation of the DDO E to flaunt its ego, and for everyone else to eat it up.

On moderator appointment.

I sense something strange in the new mod declaration. Bladerunner was necessarily unaware of the fact that airmax would make him the assistant moderator, or else he would not have ran for re-election, since airmax mentioned that (at least in his wish) these positions are necessarily exclusive of each other. Since I'm sure we would all agree that the position of assistant moderator is superior in every way to the position of president, there is no possible way blade knew.

Blade did not know?

Is it not strange that a person is not informed of his appointment to modship, yet publically declared to be a mod? Isn't it more strange that airmax stated he had extensively thought about the appointment over 6 months ago, yet blade was kept in the dark this entire time?

Given that blade did not know, there is only one other possibility. Blade DID know, but it was necessary that he had the title of president (as no other rank and file E was running). That's the only reason he ran.

Conclusio: airmax is bladerunner.

Okay so far so good

They must have been around for 2 years, or retroactively knowledgable about pre-opinion section events and interactions.

Check

They are friends with each other

Uh-oh

the type that have the "clique" and "in-circle" flavor to them. But these are things they have in common, not what ties them together. There is one thing that ties them together -- Airmax.

So im one of the Elite??? :D

Claim rejected faster than than a bad ID used to get into a nightclub

Cocaine is a hell of a drug

The fact is, airmax knows that this site needs more moderators as it grows. The amount of spam that appears in the front page almost weekly is a testament to that. But airmax want to consolidate power, while pretending like there are multiple mods.

Only one problem. The DDO elections began before all but 3 or 4 voters joined the site, so either the presidency is older than the Elites, or it was not created by them.

I did mean to mention how it was a significant thing that the DDO elite lost this election but you beat me to it. Mikal is the people's president.

A revolution has occurred and it will never be forgotten.

I mean I thonk Mikal is pretty elite...he might have a more populist bent, but the super active number 1 ranked debater on the leaderboard who basically pioneered the Google hangouts where the elite all jerk each other off sounds pretty elite to me

I never log on when the jerking off is happening :(

Sometimes I love this site.

Sometimes, I hate it.

One way or another, I'm always here.

Always forgotten, but here since the beginning.

You all know me, all love me, all hate me, and you will always have a piece of my heart.

The fact is, airmax knows that this site needs more moderators as it grows. The amount of spam that appears in the front page almost weekly is a testament to that. But airmax want to consolidate power, while pretending like there are multiple mods.

Did I mention why Ore_ele "quit?"

-_-

He knew too much... we should leave it at that.

Not to mention I and [censored] knew about [censored] and blades appointment sInce before the elections via [censored].
