Team debates?

Have there been team debates on this forum? Good idea? Bad idea? Brits vs Americans with Canadians as judges, or Atheists versus theists with agnostics as judges something like that?

People on the same team are still going to disagree with each other on specifics. I can't even argue against rape without quibbling with those who agree with me.

Would require a dummy account for the team to use - which means explicit moderator approval and recognition of team members for each one.

Nah, there'd be ways around that. For example you could have one team member take the debate and their team mates could e-mail their arguments to be copy pasted into it. Or the team debate could be represented by a series of one round debates.

Still requires a dummy account for the team to use, even if it's only one person who holds it. The alternative would be debates that exist on a current members profile but don't reflect the team aspect.
