Now that I've got your attention, haven't you guys noticed that the specific wording of a debate seems to matter more than what the instigator actually meant?
Should this change? If so, how do we go about changing this?

It depends on the debate. If it's a Policy type debate then the wording of the resolution means everything. It is only if the instigator states in the rules that there should be no semantics then there should be nothing meant for the debate.
