How and why do people vote for one person with 'Agreed with after the debate' and yet in the 'Made most convincing argument' for the other person?

If someone's argument is more convincing and you concede that it is with a vote, are you just being ignorant of your own concessions and sticking to an original bias?

Seems massively contradictory to me.

Because not all exists within the confines of the debate. The debate is typically about the skills, but the belief of the subject remains in tact due to other understandings outside of the debate.

The other person did not necessarily convince you of anything to in order to change your opinion, but may still have presented the best arguments.

Usually, one side forfeited or had terrible arguments, and the other side had better arguments, but you can still think of better arguments that the first guy could have used.

One debater may have been really poopy. That doesn't mean a free thinking person now has to agree with the other side in reality.

Stupid people shut out anything that challenges their opinions. Intelligent people weigh the evidence.
