They've changed tremendously. I've gone from listing my opinions on issues to not.

I've moved a lot further to the right on issues pertaining to fiscal policy -- stimulus, MW, healthcare, trade, etc. I'm where I started on social issues. On foreign policy, I may have become a tad more hawkish.

I don't know if it was so much DDO that did this rather than just my experiences in general, but I have, since first joining, started identifying as an ancap. So there's that.

I was a self-professed reaganite but am now a moderate libertarian. Big issues wise, I've changed from Pro to Con on the Gold Standard after a conversation with RoyL, and switched from Con to Pro on the Occupy movement after a conversation with Bsh1. There are several political and economic stances that I'm currently revisiting for analysis after speaking with both Joey and 16k as well. I'm sure there has been a few others , but these are what come to mind immediately.

I used to use crappy, cliche arguments to justify my beliefs. Now, I've become more Libertarian, and a bit smarter in forming and justifying my beliefs. I also understand alternative viewpoints better, and I'm less cocky about atheism being disproven by saying "if evolushun is tru why there still monkees" (that is, I'm not so confident that such viewpoints can be easily defeated). Along the road I've experimented (if ever so briefly) with anarchism, communism, fascism, racism, Sandy Hook Conspiracy Theories, and probably some other stuff. Overall, I'd say that I've benefited intellectually from DDO, gaining new ideas and casting aside bad ideas/arguments.

Also, I think that I used to be downright incompetent and pathetic. I still am to an extent, but much less so.
So yeah. DDO has been mostly a good thing. It's been my first real social experience as well. I've also discovered some stuff about myself, such as the fact that I am a narcissist.

It has a downside, however. I find myself spending most of my day sitting down while using DDO. I don't get nearly enough exercise.

That indoctrination by your liberal professors, won't wear off until your 30. For some people it never wears off.

Hopefully if it doesn't wear off you become a yuppie, instead of some bearded guy in sandals who lives in a van hangs out with 20 year olds and smokes too much pot.

Yes, there's like a button somewhere in the webarchive let's you take a picture of your page.

It'll probably be archived. But you could always screenshot it and save it now, and check back in about a year.

Would it randomly save it more over time?

Yep. I took no real stance but was sympathetic. 16kadams made it look like a very bad idea.

What about ya'll?

My biggest change was gay marriage, from being against it to being a major advocate for it. I also changed my stance on religion, from being a christian to being agnostic.

Religion wise on DDO it had me read the Bible more and I shifted from Roman Catholic to Episcopalian.

Well..

From Objectivism to Nihilism in virtually every philosophical stream, including epistemology. Existentialism, morals, and to an extent ontology. Funny thing is that my applied ethics are relatively similar to how I started off at, only my meta ethics took a drastic shift. But I think that's largely because I leaned heavily on agnostic on most issues anyway.

Pro Animal Rights to "Meh". My realisations about animal rights and human ethics are pretty profound, and my weak stance on animal ethics also reflects my feelings regarding human ethics. There is nothing inherent to grasp a handle into, only pragmatics and self-interest.

I was strongly against religion in general to now more of a "meh" position. I see where religion is generally valuable to society, and where it is harmful. I do not want to see spirituality dissapear since it's healthy for many people. So ideally I would like to see a motivated, intellectually honest society, and I dont think the benefits of spirituality can be ignored. I personally will never be very spiritual, I am too critical, but I do envy those who are.

Weak atheism to strong atheism

Pro abortion, to *very* Pro abortion, to just Pro abortion again. I entertained Antinatalism for a while, now I don't think its logically tenable.

Con Incest to Pro/"Meh" Incest

Con Drug Legalisation to Pro

And many others.
