Nice interview. It was short, but still enjoyable and with good questions. I hope you do some more of these.

One criticism - the title: "Semantics A Bad Rap: Part 4 Debate". I'm assuming this is just one part of a longer series since it was "part 4" but I think you should offer a little background context of the whole series as a side-note or at-least provide links to parts 1, 2, and 3 located somewhere near the beginning of the post. I wouldn't have minded reviewing the first 3 parts before reading this one, but maybe that's just how I am personally. I say that only as a fellow blogger who has had others tell me the same thing whenever I did a series.

Good point haha.

I forgot to put it in. (guess I will go do that.) I was thinking about doing a series on just debates this one is just a series about semantics.

Here is part 3... I believe it is back linked to the others.

Do you still write?

No, I had a nice blog going about 3 years ago with a couple hundred followers and over 10,000 views, oddly alot of them were in China and other Eastern Nations. I had to stop though once I picked up my second major in college. I'd love to get back into blogging myself but I just don't have the time at this point.

If you meant writing solely for the sake of writing, then yes. I have a fiction novel I'm writing as a side-project, but I only really work on it a few times every month. So far I've got 3 chapters done, and have seriously considered posting the first two here on DDO for some constructive criticism. I'm still trying to find editors who can fix my grammar mistakes. I just know I'm messing something up grammar-wise whenever it comes to character dialogues and conversations.

10,000 views a day, that's pretty good.

Nooo, haha, 10,000 views total. The blog itself only lasted about 6 months before Google shut it down for some unknown reason. It was just that right before that point I had garnered 10,000 views and a few hundred followers who would consistently read my posts. Google blogs was really neat in that it provided an actual map showing all sorts of data about your followers like their locations, how many times they've visited the page, etc.

It really was alot of fun. I still don't know why they deleted my blog though...

To quickly reply to your other comment, I did some research after the deletion and it does seem to happen to alot of people for various reasons. It's just the risk that comes with depending on something other than a personally owned website I suppose.

I wrote about a variety of things. Religion, International News, Societal Issues, Conspiracy Theories, Poems, and sometimes personal occurances or observations from my daily activities. I never really had a passion for one specific thing, but rather for a vast array of things, so my blog wasn't topic-specific by any means.

Interesting. I am the same way. I have a handful of people who write for the website on a number of issues, so the sensible soapbox is not particularly topic specific either. Hence the name. Just people getting on their soapbox.

Lol, I actually registered a web domain shortly after that, but at the same time I had just picked up a 2nd major and quickly realized I wouldn't have the time to invest in the site.

I like that, and it's a smart move to bring in contributing authors for fresh articles. The potential is endless if you run a website successfully. Even Huffington Post started as a blog.
