Prediction: Skep wins. Khaos and Daytona tie for second. I "disconnect" half way through.

Heinlein actually won the Hugo for Starship troopers. He did not win it for Time Enough for Love, however. The funny thing is all of the books that were the answers in the jeopardy are on my top 100 list for the greatest sci-fi novels of all time.

I felt the need to check if Heinlein won the hugo on starship so that I could grok him further.

I feel I should apologize for my performance. I should have done better, but not too much better, as those were some bad categories for me. But, I gave some bad answers, and a few times I didn't even answer at all. Pitiful.

I blame my general fatigue (I'm usually in bed by the time the game started), my using a laptop (which I needed the mic), and the fact I couldn't see for a bit but also couldn't hear throughout (as my wife was trying to sleep in the next room).

Either way, I had fun, and the winner deserved the win.
Thanks, bsh1 and my fellow competitors.
My work here is, finally, done.

I just saw this. Do NOT beat yourself up over this Khaos. You were tired and working in categories that you admit you weren't proficient in. It's honestly not your fault...everyone has bad days, and it doesn't pay to dwell on them. You certainly don't have to apologize...I just appreciated that you competed and spent a weeknight doing this. It means a lot that you'd take that time to do it.

Dude, you had like 4000 in our first match. It all depends on the categories. It was a blast and we should do it again =)

We should. I agree.
What bothers me is that I buzzed in, and didn't even guess. I realized my guess was wrong, and STILL didn't guess. All my Knowledge Bowl/Quiz Bowl training out the window. That was what really bothered me about my play.
My work here is, finally, done.

Haha, yep. I'm still kicking myself over a few of them, lol (Tynwaaaald). Tyler has an astounding knowledge of Science Fiction O_O major props for that.
"The Collectivist experiment is thoroughly suited (in appearance at least) to the Capitalist society which it proposes to replace. It works with the existing machinery of Capitalism, talks and thinks in the existing terms of Capitalism, appeals to just those appetites which Capitalism has aroused, and ridicules as fantastic and unheard-of just those things in society the memory of which Capitalism has killed among men wherever the blight of it has spread."
