Apologies for the multiple emails. My mistake. Please disregard all but the most recent. Also note that the draw has changed slightly for the bottom few competitors due to me accidentally counting a vote I shouldn't have. In future, it would be nice if competitors could abstain from judging debates they're not allowed to until after I go through and count things.

MATCH UPS
Wylted vs Zaradi
TheJuniorVarsityNovice vs Kasmic
UtherPenguin vs FourTrouble
shabshoral vs That1User
The Redneck vs Stag
lannan13 vs RXR.
BYE - debatability

THEME
Energy Policy

TOPICS
This House believes governments should favor green mercantilism over World Trade Organization rules.
This House believes the United States should nationalize oil exports and seek to join OPEC.
This House believes that the World Bank should discontinue the funding of energy infrastructure in developing countries.

Good luck!

Can you just pm me the link or something?

Not every round no!

I'll PM you guys the link for this round in a second but you NEED to get this email thing sorted, especially when others seem to have received it fine. If you guys have edeb8 accounts you can set up an edeb8 email address where I can guarantee 100% that you get the email, but that's about all I can do.

Also, let's just hope your opponent knows who's home/away and affirming/negating, because I have no way of seeing that. It's auto-generated when the emails are sent and not stored anywhere.

The common factor at this stage appears to be email accounts with Yahoo. If you use a Yahoo email address, you may want to consider asking me to swap it for another one.

Luckily I'm negating. I'm much stronger at that.

Which topic did you guys decide on?

Oil exports. The one I was hoping for. I can't see myself arguing pro for any of that nonsense either. There is even less evidence for the pro position here than that flat Earth debate I did.

To be honest, personally if I were picking topics in this round myself, I would be using my veto VERY strategically haha. It's pretty darn obvious which one of these topics most people are going to veto...

Yeah, I considered using my veto here, until I saw the topic actually. I figured I should be a favorite against any other person debating and was considering not even giving Zaradi a chance until I had to. Plus seeing the comments, claiming to look forward to the debate, I felt a little guilty for considering it.

I vetoed the first topic here, because it handcuffed me as con, though I think con has a better chance in that one as well.

By veto I mean, the #3 selection. there's a 0% chance the #3 topic you choose will be debated, so if you can guess what your opponent will pick as their #3 correctly, then you can decide which of the remaining topics is debated. This is a round where I think it's fair to say there's an extremely clear pattern in people's rankings of the topics so far. Which to be honest I would probably have predicted as well.
