... and some basic programming skills couldn't hurt.

1. Offer Juggle a reduced price for this website and buy it
2. Fix it and restore ads, and also broaden community interests/website aims

$250,000 is the approximate value of DDO. $50,000, which would be a miraculously low selling price, is not something that any middle or lower class person is willing to spend.

I did an advanced searched for all the people on this site who put "more than $150,000" on their income. Maybe one of them can buy it.

a) I have some limited means.
b) My wife would kill me.
c) I don't know Jack about running a website.
d) I know Fortran77, which is unlikely to be useful in maintaining this site.
e) I would abuse the site and win every argument by having Airmax alter posts against what I'm saying.
f) Not a very good investment.

Simply put, I'm researching a virus of a virus of plants, and I'm doing some protein engineering.

Look up "satellite RNA". They're just naked RNA and they compete with a virus for replication and encapsidation. Pretty cool.

Naw, I definitely lack both money *and* common sense, though perhaps not to the extent of a Microbiology PhD.

Yeah, I looked it up - definitely cool. I read up on the massive amoeba infecting virus that was dug up in permafrost over 100,000 years old - which was visible under a microscope because it was so big. Guess it makes sense that something would even be able to infect that...

Ah, I think that's a little different, something called a viroid. There are gigantic viruses out there that infect amoeba and other complex single-cellular organisms (Mimivirus and Pandoravirus come to mind), and they are directly infected by other viruses. Satellite RNAs just pirate stuff away from the virus during infection.

"$250,000" I caught so much hell for saying the exact same thing. I forget what forum it was in but people were berating me for saying that some website said DDO was worth $750,000. I of course laughed to myself and went and visited the site that said that and it was based on "potential advertising earnings". I of course tried to explain this but no one would hear any of it. The only way to know the real value of a business is to look at the books. A typical business will sell for about what it generates in gross sales in a year. I think DDO generating $250,000 a year in advertising sales in a year is at the high end of positive thinking.

For a fee and a lengthy non disclosure contract you can view a business's books if you are in fact a legitimate, financially qualified and interested buyer. And of course the seller must be willing to sell and agree.

CIA front groups, don't usually sell their company. Honestly, would any private company be this incompetent? The incompetance of Juggle can only be explained by the fact, they are most certainly government

I'd throw in for a stake of the company we put together to buy it. I'd be doing it knowing that, I'd lose money on the deal though, and I'd only do so if there were strong support to elect Lars as CEO.

The first question to ask is, will juggle sell DDO. Oh they will sell it of course. But will you pay what they ask. There are two times to buy a business. When it is extremely profitable or when it is in distress. DDO is neither.

This is true, especially for 16k. As much as it pains me to say it, economists make zilch. Heck, the PhD itself, absent funding, probably costs more in present-value terms than the lifetime salary, lol.

If you have your 'basic' programming skills, common sense and aren't too dumb you can make millions quite fast. Why would you bother with DDO then?

I have all of those, but don't make millions. I have basic programming skills, and I'm just a little dumb - not over-the-top dumb though, so that should fit your criterion. Actually, now that I think about it, maybe it's common sense I lack...

This is what BoT and I were talking about not too long ago, if Juggle is really *that* bad, then you should contact some companies that you think would be interested, not people.
