Aloha, DDO!

Intro

Just posting my second Presidential Update and I wanted to mention a few things:

Firstly, I just wanted to remind everyone that if they would like to be mentored by an experienced debater to reach out to Zaradi, who is running the New Member Mentorship Program [http://www.debate.org...].

Next, Kasmic is currently working on the "Biweekly Topics" for the forums. If you're interested in submitting or suggesting a topic, please reach out to him. Thanks!

And, as always, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to contact me, Zaradi, or BV. We'd be happy to listen and help.

Updates

- I have started a "User Outreach Program." Several established users have volunteered to reach out to promising members who only use one part of the site, and to encourage them to engage more fully on the site, and to provide them with the resources to do that. The goal is to get users with potential more engaged on DDO.
- My administration's "how to debate" guide is currently in the works, and should be out about halfway through my term.
- A revamped tournament system is currently being discussed, and should be out very soon, so be on the look out for that.
- Voting reform is still being worked on, and I hope to offer some more substantive information on that in my next update.
- The first of my administration's community-building activities has also been launched. DDO Jeopardy! should be being held sporadically over the next few weeks, and I'll be making posts in the forums to advertise those hangouts, so keep an eye out for them!
- Some other updates are in the works, and hopefully they can be announced soon.

Community Activities

- Mafia Sign-ups: http://www.debate.org...
- DDO Jeopardy!: Feel free to watch the hangouts; they're usually fun to join even if you're not competing

Trivia

In honor of Whoopi Goldberg (and, to a lesser extent, Guinan)...

Only 12 people in history have ever completed an EGOT, meaning that they've won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Just 5 of those have won the award since 2000; among those 5 is Whoopi Goldberg. It took her 17 years to snag the quartet, from her first win to her last. It puts her in an elite group of entertainers and musicians, and is probably one of the most noteworthy of her accomplishments. On a total sidenote, if you want a good laugh, you should check out the second link below...just sayin'...
