Anyone else noticing memory leaks on the site recently? I though it was just advertisements, but it is happening on a laptop I use with every possible ad-blocking known possible. I think it is something else, and new.

The same thing is happening here. Though I've been using Microsoft edge a lot though.

Quite well. It's kinda like a mixture of Internet explorer and Google Chrome in one.

Exactly. I think it is going to be a great browser. They really started with a clean slate. No ActiveX hangover, all HTML5 standards. It is better than what Chrome is at this point.

I'd say so, but the only issue is you can't use Google Hangouts.

Just sitting watching memory tick away. I am going to try to load up the site on my desktop and leave it open all night, see what happens.

Can edge also last 10 minutes without crashing? Or load a web page at least 10 times slower than Chrome?

What do you mean by "memory?"

Simply put, the app is running and consuming more and more memory without releasing it.

I think I get what you mean. I opened task manager while closing all other tabs, and chrome took at least 400MB of memory.

Maybe that is why my computer is crashing at work....
I suppose I should actually work while I am there, huh?
My work here is, finally, done.

DDO isn't an app.

Well, it is. This site is long-polling. ~every 10 sec it is "polling" the server for updates. That is how your message indicator gets updates. There is code (client side code) running on the site with every page you load. It is most definitely an app.

I can't find it in the App Store. Do I have to jail break my phone to get it?

CC Cleaner works wounders in that regards.

That and they don't have an ad blocker yet that is free. They just recently came out with an ad blocker, but it costs a ton to use.

Not what I am saying. Any modern webpage is more complex than just HTML sitting on your browser. They are "doing stuff" even while just sitting still. They are "apps". HTML5 is basically all about how we are turning the browser into a complete host for applications.

I think I nailed it down last night. I think it was flash. There is more advertising in the polls section, and it followed with that. I had everything blocked, I though, but something was still spinning up.
