Yes, people of DDO. We have a new record for source-spamming! 16kadams and ResponsiblyIrresponsible have managed to put ... yes, folks ... 70 sources in one round of debate!

I'm so honored. I didn't prepare an acceptance speech, but I can ad-lib it.

Thank you, tejretics, for this amazing honor. It's nice to receive recognition for #sourcespamming, and after all the guff emanating from the politics forum and the real-life political amphitheater from *cough* Donald Trump *cough*, it's nice to call attention to what really matters: preventing cancer (16k understands this joke).

For all of those with a dream, I urge you to never look back, never yield, never cave! -- unless you're Donald J. Trump, in which case you should drop out of the GOP race right fcking now -- and one day you will be like us.

Thank you!

We are the best.

And just in case someone says we are 2 people so unfair, I put 60 of those on there, so we still break the record on a 1v1 basis. But yes. We have 70, so get rekt unscrublords

The suffering K says suffering is beneficial to human race, and maximizing benefit is a moral obligation. Nietzsche also says moral obligations don't exist. We can run "God is dead" and ethical nihilism.

I don't think that's how Zaradi ran it, though. I had this discussion with him a few times (namely how technological advancement would factor into his case). He's always argued not that there's a moral obligation to maximize benefits by increasing suffering, but that the benefits of suffering merit not taking action to reduce it.

Then again, I still don't see the logical progression from that to God, lol

Let's fite.

Sure. Throw as many sources at me as you'd like. I have a philosophical argument ready to undermine all of them without a single google search on my part.

You get the point.

The prosecution rests.

We can counter suffering K by turning the cards . . . counter-K with Nietzsche, prove that morals don't exist unless God exists, turn it into a God debate and run Machiavellian stuff. #rekonomics

How do you counter the K the Nietzsche? The K is based on Nietzsche, lol. Is it possible to cancel one of his cards out with another?

The suffering K says suffering is beneficial to human race, and maximizing benefit is a moral obligation. Nietzsche also says moral obligations don't exist. We can run "God is dead" and ethical nihilism.

I don't think that's how Zaradi ran it, though. I had this discussion with him a few times (namely how technological advancement would factor into his case). He's always argued not that there's a moral obligation to maximize benefits by increasing suffering, but that the benefits of suffering merit not taking action to reduce it.

Then again, I still don't see the logical progression from that to God, lol

Then we could run util.

Isn't that directly covered by the suffering K, though? Lol.

No, it isn't. There's no direct *warrant* for discrediting util. I mean, Zaradi'd probably run Bostrom against util, but if you've kept up with SS PMs, you'll know how to refute that.

If you run util, I'll just copy Bossy and run the NAP.

NAP can be easily defeated by the fact that there aren't intrinsic "rights."

I already have, actually. There are lots of ways to refute NAP IMO. I don't buy it at all. Fkkize probably knows more about this than me, you could ask him.
