If one clicks on the current Official Election Voting thread, one will see (provided he/she doesn't skim over the OP) that certain requirements are in place for would-be voters to be eligible.
Now, these requirements are not even bad. On the contrary, these requirements are a net benefit to the quality of the DDO Voting System. These requirements prevent voter fraud and en masse voting from users who don't know squat about DDO and have been on this Site for about 15 minutes.

The problem comes in whenever the rules become so strictly enforced that exceptions are never allowed. Jifpop is one obvious example. Provided that he is actually Jifpop and not some random noob pretending to be him (and I'm fairly sure that he's Jifpop based on a certain incident involving a temporary unbanning of Stag on edeb8), he should be considered more than eligible to vote. His various accounts have had thousands of posts, dozens if not hundreds of debates, and a good 2-3 years on DDO. He should be made an exception. Instead, due to technicalities he has been disenfranchised for this election season.

If you want the voter requirements for Presidential elections to be less rigid and unflexible, then sign the petition below.

If rules aren't strictly enforced it gives those in positions of power, too much flexibility in determining the winner. Airmax is right to strictly enforce the rules
