What do you think about all of us working towards bringing some new opinions to this site?

I think it's time to take action towards diversifying our ideas.

I disagree.
Mission accomplished.
I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

Moderate Socialists(liberals), Muslims, core libertarians, radical libertarians.

The socialists I can think of off the top of my head are brian and feverish (who don't really debate or talk politics a lot in the fourms, plus they're English so don't typically talk American politics at that) and lovelife (nuff said). Even INH has made the shift. That's hardly a testament to the strong left here lol. Volkov kinda peaced out for a little bit so even the one liberal is gone (again JBlake doesn't count; he doesn't talk politics here a lot). So you've got variations of libertarians and anarchists and that's it. Though admittedly most "libertarians" are probably not -- for instance tvellalott is pro health care, pro welfare, pro social programs, etc. yet he considers himself a libertarian. And then of course there are the naive libertarians who don't realize that government and capitalism go hand in hand and actually believe that capitalism provides a "free" market. I just consider those people misguided :p

This point is even more stressed when concerning Randians, ideological xenophobia to the extreme.

I feel vaguely insulted lol.

But yes, we need more lefties on this site. Not so much that they become the new anarchist/capitalist/libertarians of this site, but just enough so its actually interesting.

Sure it is. Diversity is, at best, an instrumental value.

Diversity for the sake of debate isn't, though.

Or it could be the fact that it's the opinions which have the potential to be valuable--the fact that they're diverse is irrelevant to a question of value.

Sure. But, at that point, diversity isn't what you're valuing.

Maybe we should try to make the website better. That would attract more people.

Voting standards, customize rounds, etc...

Yes, the level of economic logic here is off the charts. Primary reason for it.
