I haven't been able to get votes on my debate lately. Even if I post them in the voting thread, nobody will vote on them. Anybody else have this problem?

When I first got voting rights, I was like, 'Yay, this is amazing, I'm going to vote on every debate I can and help solve the lack of voting issue!'

Then after a while I just simply couldn't be bothered, I literally had a better time staring at the wall while reading arguments and then I simply get too distracted to even bother.
I guess that's the case with all of us.

Voting and even debate participation has been considerably discouraged and even impaired by the biased and (IMO) corrupt forum elite - powers that be.

I've had the same problem. I've even requested votes from the voter's union, response is spotty at best. If there's a forfeited round in a debate advertise that on the voting thread along with the link. You'll easily get votes and win or loose on conduct points alone. This seems to be the trend since no critical analysis, RFD writing, or even reading the debate is required.

I agree, it has always been a problem, but recently I noticed it getting worse. It also doesn't help that people's well meaning votes are getting removed over technicalities, which makes in my opinion discourages people from voting. That combined with how DDO elite members often put a Elo minimum for votes or worse, do the judge voting so only certain people can vote, which can make the lower rated people feel as if their votes are not wanted.

The best way to actually get people to vote on your debates is either:
1. be a popular member and make debates people actually want to read
2. rely on noobsniping so judges can just put "ff" or "pro made no argument" as their sole RFD and not do any work, like stated by Peepette

But a majority of your votes are just for forfeiture, or something similar. You just go after the low hanging fruit without voting on debates that require effort.

Nope. Literally no votes have been cast this year.

So, I'm trying to get my voting rights back, but it's hard to find debates that meet these qualifications:

1) at least 3 rounds, not including the acceptance round
2) at least 4000 characters each round
3) no forfeits or concessions
4) 7-point-pointing, not select-a-winner

If you see a debate that meets these qualifications, please send me a link. I really want to start voting again. I learned the hard way that the moderators have no sense of humor, even when the debates are absurd.

Why are these the criteria for being able to get voting rights back?

I'm in the same boat. It took me three weeks to meet the criteria; waiting to hear back if voting right are restored. But here's the rub. If you take the time and effort to write and RFD and it does not fit the strict rules, you loose voting rights after your third removed vote. Yet, those who just vote of forfeited round debates can just write FF and award a win on conduct points alone; there's no need to even read the debate. Now we have a situation where very few fully developed debates even get voted on unless you have a pack of friends who reciprocate for one another. When I'm in the mood to be apart of a social network, I go to Face book, not DDO.

The mods just remove a vote if they don't like an RFD. Unless your RFD is an 8000 word dissertation and posted in the forums section for further voting it is unlikely a vote will stand. Why bother. You can't even use real world experience and knowledge in your RFD.
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.
