I actually thought the same. I'll cast my vote for this date. Lets hear from more people first, though, before we decide.

No, it is Friday, prior to weekend, and we will keep more interest in it. Almost a month ahead is too much, because it will be hard to maintain interest or control over parties, members, etc. and nothing could come out of it.

Would we want it during Thanksgiving break? Would that help out the college people?

I would have to agree with innomen and panda.

Dec 1st at the earliest. Family get together will play are role in everyone's lives here. From the college student trying to get to them to the family members setting them up and hosting them. Dec. 1 is kinda a lull in the storm for most people.

I'm good with December 1st.

Though I'm not averse to November 6th.

L is only saying the 6th so it will be over quicker.

It just occurred to me that the voting time should probably last longer than a day since not everyone gets one every day. 1st-2nd?

I thought of this too, perhaps a three day voting period. Also, what is the format of the voting going to be? I would like to propose a role call vote.

In my opinion it should be something that can be counted and verified. Most online polls (like the one that I use) are easily frauded.

That's why a role count is the best deal, also anyone who has a membership that was just recently created, and no one ever heard of should be suspect, especially if they cannot vote in formal debates here.

So obscure british members should be discriminated against?

I would go with more of a membership age restriction (just like the real elections have age restrictions).

Age? I'm really okay with that, but you might hear some yelling from the other parties.

@ LL - Obscure, new members yes should be discriminated against, and if they happen to be British...well that's the way i would work.

Sorry, not their actual age, but their membership age (how long they've been members).

And what age would they have to be in order to vote?

@Innomen
So just because someone is new, british and obscure you think they need discriminated against? tsk tsk.

I personally would say something along the lines of 1 month or something, however, I'm not too concerned about the actual membership age, but the concept itself. Once that is agreed (if it is agreed) then we can bicker if it is 2 weeks or 1 month or 2 months, or whatever.
