Many a warrior have come to this glorious website to show off their skill at the artistic science known as debate.

Some are naturally gifted, others had to put in blood sweat and tears to go from 1.7k Elo up to the amount dreamed only by the many.

Whether this site gets rid of Elo or not, whether wins no longer get counted there are few things as shameful to a debater's record as a conceded or forfeited debate.

Observe the situation; you have no way left to win the debate, the opponent has come up with many points and you cannot think how to rebut enough to claim victory. Why in the name of airmax1227, peace be upon him, would you admit you concede or let the timer go by and forfeit it?

Everyone has hurdles to jump, everyone has handicaps in this spartan site of intellectual dispute but you think you need to feel so much shame and be that severely butthurt that you have not the decency to stand before your opponent and rebut the few thigns you still can? Do you think you are too cool to re-iterate what few points you have left going for you and put in the best effort you can to lose without looking like an utter coward?

So what if you lost? Losing is necessary for winning to happen on the website, you're just assisting the greater good (observe vi spex). There is no shame in being a loser, there is only shame in genuinely forfeiting or conceding to achieve that. Never give up brethren and don't you dare never back down. What do you think is truly the mightier defeat? The stereotypical samurai seppuku because they are so humiliated at the fact that, just like everyone they defeated, they themselves can can be or the vicious ninja way of fighting tooth and nail so your opponent will live to have nightmares of the day they defeated you for years to come. Cut your arms? Hop and headbutt them! Cut your legs? Worm=crawl and bite their godforsaken leg! You are not a coward dearest debater, you are not a serial forfeitist, you are not a concessioholic YOU ARE A DEBATER AND YOUR DUTY IS TO ARGUE TO THE VERY LAST SENTENCE OF YOUR SPEECH.

Thank you for reading this, the gift of inspiring is a rewarding one, followers are necessary for leaders to feel valued after all just as losers are to make winners look good. Have no shame in what you are, only in how you carry yourself while being it.
If life was easy, we'd get to the boss level (death) too soon.

A newbie with his 3rd post written this way? Amazing and very inspirational for the experienced DDO debaters. Good luck grandfather in your DDO journey. May you have a very meaningful life.
If computers have no doors or fences, who needs Windows and Gates?

I have a 10-0-0 debate record with an ELO ranking of 2,814. From 610th during my first two-week stay, I am now 326th in the Debates Leaderboard: http://www.debate.org...

Luck is not necessary, only the will to succeed without it!
