I hereby inform you that Authoparty will no longer take part in the so-called debate.org elections, unless - as I had thought - moderator privileges are given. We have pushed a lot into this with the party, but a temporary break is the best choice now. Therefore, we are pulling out. Thank you.

Not what I thought this topic would be about.

Moving on, does that mean that the authoroparty doesn't believe in "for fun" things such as elections?

I thought that too, but when I saw that the thread was started by Mirza, I was confused.

The intention behind forming the party was to try to gain moderator rights and help making debate.org a better experience for people by having a good influence on the site. Merely promoting good conduct etc. can be done without electing an official party. As long as this does not become official and recognized by the debate.org staff, I will not take part of it.

I think the parties are very unclear with what they want. Freedom Party has a misleading name, misleading policies too, and Party Party just sounds like totally unnecessary. I think for any party to be recognized by others, it should have a serious goal behind it, such as calling for good ties between people or something similar. Standing for humor is a good idea, without doubt, but there should also be a serious goal with a party.

Any party which promotes good conduct and helps Phil with detecting unwanted content or posts sounds good, but I want to see the parties get more into that with their policies.

From what I've "heard" it's very effective so long as the responsible partner keeps his head about him.

It's far more effective then doing nothing, however less effective then other methods, such as a condom or pills (assuming everything is done correctly, any method done incorrectly is going to be just as in-effective).

I am confused, people seem to be taking this election seriously...
I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

We were given faulty reason to take it seriously. Had mod powers actually been involved, then it would make a big difference on who was elected. Now that we know that it isn't, we can go back to just being for fun.

This went from a potentially very interesting topic to a very uninteresting topic. Thanks.

I'm going to post a response to what i thought the topic was gonna be about. While the pull out is kinda sketchy, the pull-n'-pray is where it's at.
