I'm seriously effing pissed off right now. I've lost debates before, and most of them fairly, however for this debate I obviously should have won it.:

http://www.debate.org...

Yet I lost. My opponent voted for himself, and even though I could have done the same, I didn't feel the need to cause I was winning at the time. Then I get voted bombed, and when it's too late I lost, and now my win ratio is below 50%.

Kermit sad :(

At least he was kind enough to give you the "used the most reliable sources". Although, the votes look equal aside from his, I don't see the problem.

Did you read the debate or at least skim through it? Cause if for some reason my arguments were worse than his, than please tell me cause and explain why.

You could have been arguing for anything and won based on the quality of your arguments over his excessive use of fallacy.

Nah, I only looked at the voting section. Since you didn't say the actual debate was somehow garbage, I assumed that it was of a fair nature. After further observation of the actual debate.... lol... damn that sucks.

Protip #1: Don't take debates with short voting periods. If you do, make sure you advertise it in your sig or via private message to make sure it gets enough legitimate votes to offset the bad ones.

Protip #2: If the voting is close, but I already have the lead I'll cast a straight 7 for myself a few seconds before the voting period ends just in case of last minute shenanigans.

Protip #1: What's a good voting period then? PMing other seems very weird. I've never received a PM before to vote on a debate.

Protip #2: Seems very unethical. I'm against voting against myself, especially since I used another members phone number. I was curious if you ever won a debate by voting for yourself. You haven't and most debates you've won by a clear majority :O. Holy sh!t your good.

I should have voted for myself to counteract CON. I wanted to show that I could win without stooping to his levels. Turns out sometimes it's necessary.

I like 3 months best, but it doesn't make a huge difference. Just don't take anything shorter than 1 month.

I usually only vote for myself if I'm being badly votebombed, if my opponent votes for himself, if he forfeits multiple rounds, etc.

I should have voted for myself to counteract CON. I wanted to show that I could win without stooping to his levels. Turns out sometimes it's necessary.

Yeah, I'd rather not win that way, but if it's either that or lose to a complete tool...

It was a vote bomb. The last guy to vote is the same age and from the exact same place as con. Probably a dummy account, since the person had never been on before or since the vote. Thats bulls**t.

Probably a friend, rather than a 2nd account.

@darkkermit
But just in case it is a 2nd account, you should report it, saying so. Someone did the same thing to me a while back, I reported the accounts, and both got banned and the votes got removed.

I was votebombed at the last second in one of my debates by the guy I was debating against. It was bullsh*t but a votes a vote I guess.
