I think that we should begin working together as a site to move past the large volume of drama that we've experienced. It is clear, to me at least, that we need to reconcile the abolitionist and the presidency supporters in order to wind down the levels of enmity and combativeness that have been displayed recently.

One way I feel like we can move forward is to channel our energies elsewhere, away from the controversy at hand. For instance, at Wylted's invitation, Lannan and I will be working on a thread that contains links to outside resources for suicidal or depressed members, to direct them to the help they may need. Given the number of people I know of on this site who have, at one time or another, expressed suicidal thoughts, I believe that directing them to these resources is a useful project, and I hope it will make a positive difference.

I would be open to hearing in this thread about other projects or initiatives community members could undertake to make a positive impact on the site, like Adam's fan fiction efforts, for example. Please post your ideas.

If you're not interested in a project, then doing some debate, making some substantive forum threads, or playing mafia could all be good ways to reengage in the site in a positive way. This kind of interaction is not just good for DDO itself, but it is good for the users, because it reminds us of why we love this site, and allows us to begin enjoying it again, rather than bickering over presidency-related issues.

I may not have liked the way this drama turned out, or even that it happened, but I think it is important now to move on. Dwelling on it cannot be beneficial, for anyone. And I would call on people to cease perpetuating the drama, and to stop insulting members of other camps or doing things that exacerbate the animosity. Thank you.

I make substantive forum threads that no one responds to, does that count?

Would you endorse Max having a stricter moderation policy/enforcing the TOS more? Which also may result in a lot of people being temp-banned?

I think, after this drama, some temp bans are in order. But, that's all I am going to say at this point in time. Anything more would add to the drama, and that's not what I am interested in doing.

Do you think that your behavior has contributed to this drama at all? If so, do you still think it was necessary? What qualifies as "acceptable drama"?

I have tried to stay out of it and I think have done pretty successfully. But I may have, I am not sure. I would rather not play a blame game, though, Peters. I would rather move on, not stay focused on the drama, so let's refocus back to the topic of the OP please.

I think we should start to coalesce as a community sooner rather than later. Just because people can still vote does not mean that people cannot be polite with one another, or refocus their attention to other things on the site.
