The idea of this program is based on integration into the community. The way I want to structure this program is based on a one on one setting. A good way to do it is this page.

http://www.debate.org...

Find members that are new to the site who are currently online and shoot them a message. Welcome them to the site, and offer them help in any way you can. Tell them about the program, and that you want to help familiarize them with the site. Once you find a member that is interested and wants to participate, work with that member and bringing him/her into the community. How you do that is entirely subjective, but here are some ways you can start.

Introduce them to the site as a whole

(1) Tell them about the forums and how it differs from the debate side. Explain the different forums and what their purpose are. Tell them about site functionality. Link to the mods profile, and explain the purpose of moderation and summarize the rules of the site.
(2) Tell them ways to structure debates, formal etiquette on site debates, the opt in system, voting etc . You can even list people who judge and vote well in your opinion.
(3) Tell them about mafia
(4) Tell them about fan fics
(5) anything else that you can think of is relevant

Here are some useful links to tie into that.

(1) New Users Page - http://www.debate.org...
(2) Ragnars New User Guide - https://docs.google.com...
(3) Official Debating Guide - https://docs.google.com...
(4) Link to Airmaxs Profile - http://www.debate.org...
(5) Fan Fiction - http://www.debate.org...
(6) If you want to make them laugh show them DDO the movie - http://www.debate.org...
(7) Basic Summary of Voting - http://www.debate.org...
(8) How to vote in depth (YYW) - http://www.debate.org...

There is an infinite number of ways to do this and it's entirely subjective. Your goal is to find their niche and get them interested in one area of the site and build on that. Most certainly prompt them to participate in the forums, because that is where most of the social aspect happens and where community building is at its strongest point. If you can take on more than one person at a time, feel free. The reason I was wanting to do one on one is because it's easier to get to know the person and work with them specifically to make sure their experience is good. There is a entire untapped region of people who use this site.

Let's bring them on here and welcome them. We can give CPR to the site and start to revitalize it.

If you are interested sign up below. Once you find a noob to work with, update your name with the name of your noob beside it. Once completed and once your noob is integrated, you can update your name with a new noob if you want to continue or remove your name from the list

**Note**

The way i'm doing this is sending a generic messages with links to all the aforementioned topics and telling the member if they have any questions , to feel free to message me. The response is overwhelmingly good. I've contacted the better part of 20 people who wanted to learn about the site privately but not participate in the program itself.

I will most certainly keep doing this and hopefully more and more people will be willing to sign up. I have a google doc for the message i'm sending and most of them are saving it for reference in the future.

Out of 23 members Messaged

15 Have responded
4 have responded and opted into the program
4 have not responded at all as of yet
