Aloha! Welcome to the voting contest of the DDOlympics!

The Contest

Round One

All contestants will cast 3 votes on debates; these debates cannot contain forfeits, and must have at least three rounds of "debate" (acceptance is not "debate"). These votes must have been cast between today and the end of the first round of the competition. All votes are due by August 31st. This will give you about two weeks to cast your votes.

A panel of three judges will score these votes and are urged to consider things like depth of analysis, lack of interventionism, readability, quality of feedback, whether the vote demonstrated comprehension of the debate, absence of bias, clarity of weighing, etc. However, there is no specific scoring rubric that the judges must follow. Judges can assign a vote up to 10 points; judges can assign those points in increments of .25. In the event of a tie, the person with the single highest score will win out; if that fails, the person with the single lowest score will lose out; if that still fails, then I will cast a tiebraking quarter point.

Round Two

Based on the scores from Round One, all but four contestants will be eliminated. The results of Round One will be announced by September 4th. The remaining four contestants will cast a further vote (again on a debate without forfeits and with at least 3 rounds of debate). This vote must be cast between September 4th and September 10th, giving you about 6 days to cast the last vote.

The results of round two will be added to round one to assess cumulative points. The winner will have the most cumulative points.

Time Check

About a week remains for you to submit your round one votes. Remember, you need to submit a total of three votes, and the earlier you submit them, the more time judges have to review them.
