Hi Everyone,

After gathering your feedback, we are going to launch another update to the website this afternoon at 4pm CST / 2pm PST at which point any users who are logged on will get kicked off of their session. Again, we are expecting downtime to be minimal, possibly 15 minutes at most.

Below is the list of items that will be released today:

Added formatting options for PMs and debate arguments (bolding, headers, italics, underlining, etc)

Added Economics and Philosophy as debate categories

Added more emoticons to the forums

Expanded the religion options for profiles

Increased the number of characters allowed for a forum title

Created a new "Personal" forum category

Updated the welcome banner design on the homepage

Updated the Elected Officials page so that the avatars update dynamically

Updated the forum category pages to ensure that the forum icon was displaying

In addition, we made some changes to the URL structure and back-end code. We have tested all of these changes; however there is always the possibility that something was not caught.

When the release is complete, I will update this thread to confirm that it is live and provide an option for members to report any issues should they encounter them.

Thanks!
Julia

SWEET!

It appears that all forum text defaults to italicized. Weird.

This statement is not italicized.

It only applies to responses below quotes. It's an easy fix.

I'm not trolling. Quote that post. It's not manually italicized. It seems to work now. What an odd glitch. Perhaps it only applied because the guy before me had not had an < / em >?

Nope. I'll let the site owners figure that one out.

Found it; never mind. In the quoted text, there was an < e m > but no closed < / em >. That problem could be fixed pretty easily by terminating text modifiers after a line of quotation.

Thank you.

1. The full text in "BIG Issues" is not always shown, if it is long. An example is my description on my stance on "War in Iran."

2. It would be a good idea to have strike-through format of text on the forums, too.

Good work with everything, I must say.

I can see my message change fontwise and sizewise in the message box where I'm typing it.

However as I post the message I see:

i can't see any of the smaller or larger fonts

Furthermore there is not default size and font for firefox

I am testing it in Firefox right now and it is working for me. Is it not sending messages? Is the formatting not working? What exactly is not working?

Just testing new pm with firefox. Sorry but this message was on top.

This is what it showed up as. And when I try to add post it asks me to type message. I have to hit that request twice to get message to load. And sometimes it double posts. But not always.

Did it. Same thing except the

isn't there when I go back to the message. I only see it when I first add the message.

Still popping up the please type message request. I still have to hit it twice to get it to load. Not

Not a real big issue. I can live with it. If people I talk to can stand a double post every now and again.
