Why do people care so much about the forfeit glitch?

I do have an idea in mind... I want to see if the people are willing to admit it.

While you may think that people who enjoy to get easy wins regularly from noobs are the sole cause of frustration, they are simply the majority.

The remaining faction are angry because if someone feels they've lost a debate, all they need to do is stall.

Well, anyone who "stalls" in that manner is considered to lose as far as the site is concerned. Unless it's the win record that matters. Hint: it doesn't.

If Trump were to scoff at a lower-middle class father fretting about 10 dollars that he dropped out of his pocket on the way home, he's have very much in common with you.

When someone has your record, they can't comprehend fretting over the record anymore.

First, I have never cared about my "record." It just doesn't matter. No important users -- even those that don't have a "win record" -- care about it. It's unreliable. Second, I am in no means "privileged" by my record because (1) nobody important on the site cares about it, and (2) I gained it just by debating people... which isn't something restricted to only me.

Because of it, it says I have 9 arguments due, and because of another glitch, I couldn't post, and it was a forfeit, so that's annoying, and the tournament debate such as this: http://www.debate.org... the game is now stuck

I have 10 stuck in the glitch. I don't care about some against the noobs, but there are a few important debates that I actually care about stuck in a glitch, 2 tag-team debates and one against Bailey.

Because if two actual debaters have a debate, and one person accidentally misses the deadline (which happens occasionally), the debate can freeze, and then those two can no longer debate each other until the debate randomly ends however much later

Yes, but only with the consent of both parties.

You're confusing "remove the forfeit glitch" with "remove forfeit glitch affected debates."

He can delete the debates. But I think only Juggle can fix glitches like that... and this is obviously a low priority.

When somebody forfeits the debate gets stuck and nobody can post their arguments - this has delayed people's debates for months as a result.

When did this arise?

I think it was a little over a month ago (though it could be more).

What's the cause?

I'm not entirely sure, you'll have to speak with max about it.

Okay. Anyways, from my understanding, people despise the forfeit glitch because it terminates debates which a lot of time and effort have been put into. For example:
http://www.debate.org...

It's also annoying in the fact (as fire said) that it causes constant notifications- 'debate arguments due' when in actual fact, the debates have been paused.

Also, it takes away the ability to noobsnipe in order to improve debating records. The only other reason I can think of regarding why people care so much about the glitch is to get attention and an opportunity to rant.

So over to you now, what is your opinion?
