We know there are moves to have RFDs made compulsary for votes, but who knows if this will ever happen and whether it will even be effective.

So here's MY preposal.

Everybody who can vote should make a personal effort to RFD at least 4 debates a week, regardless of the topic.

It's simple:
Go to the main page, look at the debates that are in the voting period, choose one, read it, vote and RFD. It's not rocket science. Since my account has been confirmed, I've made this effort.

I think you should all make this effort too.

I'll definitely do this and would suggest that others do so as well. The faster that we can make RFDs a norm, the more likely other users (especially ones not active in the forums) will start doing so as well. Everyone benefits from this proposal. Good idea,TV.
I'm not back. This idiot just upset me which made me stop lurking.

I have tried multiple times to get confirmed, but my carrier (it's not even international) doesn't seem to work with the service.

I'm behind the initiative (as it will surely help most as a critique system to improve debaters. I know I appreciate reviews), but how can I take part without confirmation?

Me -Phil left the site in my charge. I have a recorded phone conversation to prove it.
kohai -If you're the owner, then do something useful like ip block him and get us away from juggle and on a dofferent host!
Me -haha you apparently don't know my history
Kohai - Maybe not, but that doesn't matter! You shoukd still listen to your community and quit being a tyrrant!
Me - i was being completely sarcastic
Kohai - then u misrepresented yourself by impersonating the owner—a violation of the tos

Well, you can certainly still leave RFDs. I appreciate what people have to say more than the actual votes.

Why not?
Do you know how many people who CAN'T vote (I was once one of them) who would love to be able to?
Considering you're one of the most active members of the site, this is a complete waste of your potential.
RFDing other debates can only improve your own debate skill.

Wow that sounds almost like "why don't you eat healthy? Do you know how many people that would love to but CAN'T"

Anyway the answer is simple, I leave this site open, but I don't really mess with it that often. I hate long debates and wont read them thus don't vote. So I tend not to read any of the better ones. Had I not been a debater in my last debate I wouldn't have read it.
I do not want to waste time when I have things to do.

I'm not really that active. I might post a good 20 or so times a day but my activity is scattered throughout the day. I only read what I can easily catch up on within 10 mins. Its rare or me to spend 1 full hour on here and thats about the time I take to read a debate, think about it skim back through and vote, and when I do vote I try to leave an RFD.

RFDing other debates can only improve your own debate skill.

Maybe.
Without Royal there is a hole inside of me, I have no choice but to leave

Good idea. I personally think trying to implement "fair" voting on this site is futile, at best, but I support your efforts. Even if people make an effort to vote on 4 debates per week, they will most likely choose resolutions (or debaters) they're already biased toward. An anarchist is going to be drawn to debates on anarchy; a determinist is going to check out debates on free will, etc. And most likely these readers already have their minds made up before reading. But once again, sure, if it makes people feel better then let's try to adopt this "fair" policy.

Yes, people will choose resolutions that interest them, just like they already do.
Yes, people will vote with biased, based on pre-existing opinions, just like they already do.

However, if they simply leave a few lines explaining themselves, I'd be much happier, despite the above points.
