You can clearly see major job loss during Bush's presidency and a steady increase in Obama's job record, including 200,000+ new jobs this past February.

Thoughts?

Except the chart is misleading since 2007 was Bush's job record, besides the financial crisis:

http://unemploymentdata.com...

Also note that the labor force increasing doesn't equal a large reduction in unemployment, since the population is increasing as well.

How is it misleading? All I see is a stable increase during the presidency of a liberal, and a terrible jobs decrease during the presidency of a neocon.

under bush 2007 unemployment was 4-7%, now under obama 9-8%.

Because you didn't take into consideration the majority years that George W. Bush was in office, you know 2000-2006 data. Furthermore, an increase in jobs isn't an impressive feat, since a growing population has to have job growth and doesn't take into consideration whether the labor force is growing or not.

If the job growth rate is 2%, yet there is a 3% increase in the labor force, that's a 1% increase in unemployment.

More jobs were created in 2010 than in the entire Bush years (net jobs).

I like how conservatives are so quick to ignore how the economy started going to hell in Bush's final years and happily blame it on Obama....

The President still does have a large influence on passing the bills into law, appointing judges to the court, and appointing or keeping the Fed Chairman.

So you reference a year when Obama job growth is the best under him, and compare it to the bush year combination, in which the financial crisis created a large job loss. While If we were to come up with a real comparable comparison, Net jobs created under Obama vs. Bush, Bush comes up ahead.

When Obama stepped into office: unemployment rate was 7.9%.

It peaked at 10% on October 2009.

It is now at 8.5%.

Conclusion: Under Obama's presidency, the unemployment rate has increased.

yes but because of coinciding trends between the rise in unemployment under the end of Bush's years and the Beginning of Obama's, you cant pin unemployment on just one president, you have to pin it under both....

Yes, we obviously realize that pinning unemployment on a single president is stupid. So then why aren't you criticizing the opening post who not only cites incorrect statistics, but believes this proves that Obama's policies are better then Bush's.

A President's record depends on his years of Presidency.

Both Bush's and Obama's record is crap.

Lol. This is the same rhetoric used to excuse the failed policies of any President. Obama promised that the unemployment rate would be lower than 8% a year ago.

Statistics don't lie. Obama's job creation record is abysmal.

So then why aren't you criticizing the opening post who not only cites incorrect statistics, but believes this proves that Obama's policies are better then Bush's.

because bushes policies are where the trend started, but Obama's is where it began to reverse

So data only work if it favors your policies? For the amount of stimulus that was spent and the unemployment rate that resulted, it is hardly considered "reversed".

But I can back up why Obama's policies are wrong using economic theories. Can you please explain, using reasoning, why Bush caused the recession?

That is some of the most egregious cherry picking I've ever seen. Why not December of each year? Or better yet, list every month like the OP did.

You don't like it because it just shows how much money Obama has spent, and how little it has done.

Clearly, increasing the deficit by a bagillion dollars a year didn't do what it was supposed to do.
